As the worlds of magic and science mesh together, the old and the new, the past and the future; what comes forth as the lines of reality blur? This was the question that plagued the minds of wizard Zabot and scientist Distant Touch. After many hours pondering and time travelling - the seed was planted and the idea was born.

Phonix Records is proud present its 10th digital release, Distant Touch and Zabot - Alternate Algorithms. With this release, these two beat hackers twist and bend waveforms to present us with their unique visions of the past and the future. Distant Touch spent many an hour travelling through the past to 'Analyze' the origin of magic. At the same time Zabot started his own studies into science and discovered the impressive and disorienting 'Offensive Psy Application'. Finally, it was time to process and assimilate all that they had learned and so the idea materialized, the waves come pouring forth from their minds and behold - the 'Alternate Algorithm' was realized. 

With this release, Phonix Records is proud to continue on its mission to promote nothing but the very best in twilight psytrance mayhem. With that said, it is time to boldly go where no living being has gone before - into the realm of Alternate Algorithms!

Distant Touch vs. Zabot - Alternate Algorithm

SpaceEffect aka Oscar Needham is an up and coming DJ/Producer from North Queensland. He was introduced into the Australian Psychedelic Party scene and instantly fell in love with psychedelic music. The sound and rhythm of Psychedelic music captured his ear, he was inspired by the scene and eager to play DJ sets and create his own sound and journey.

In 2010, Paulo Etnarama was inspired to support fresh up and coming psytrance producers acts in twilight psytrance, and thus Phonix Records was born in London. Later that year he found his partner in crime - Ishikawa, a fellow traveler in the cosmos who shared the same vision. Together they worked tirelessly with the aim of providing sonic scientists and wizards the means to be heard by audiences galaxy wide.

Fast-forward 3 years to 2013, Etnarama goes on sabbatical and Ishikawa takes the reigns to manage the label. Since then - Phonix Records has now branched from its home in the UK with representation across USA, Portugal, and South Africa. Over 15 years and over 50 releases, they have released fresh releases featuring all the flavors of the twilight spectrum. Today they proudly support an ever-growing roster of new and established producers from across the globe including France, South Africa, Mexico, Portugal and Canada.

Focusing completely on the music for the twilight hours, Phonix Records has constantly been pushing to release nothing but the very best in super powered, hyper charged, 100% unadulterated twilight psytrance! They strive to leave their mark on the psytrance scene as a serious label known to support the music they love.
