Hydrangea is a new French electronic producer, doing techno music deeply inspired by nature and its surroundings. She began producing music in early 2014, influenced mainly by the deep and hypnotic Italian techno.

So far, the Annulled Music Imprint has released Hydrangea's debut album, called 'Dawn Lights', a sensorial trip that captures each of your senses. She also released an EP on Two&Two Records and tracks on VA compilations, such as The Wandering II Compilation out on Silent Season. Besides being constantly preoccupied in reshaping her sound and developing new ways of expression through music, she's also a graphic designer and photographer under the alias Horty Shooter, managing the artworks for different music releases and graphic art projects.

After eight years immersed in songwriting and production, Dani Siciliano is ready to return with her third solo LP "DANI SICILIANO". Ahead of the LP's release on Circus Company, the lead single shines a light on one of the album’s undoubted highlights and offers it up for some intriguing dancefloor variations that nod to her house music roots. “I’m The Question” revels in the playful and unconventional approach to pop that has always guided
Dani’s music, and so gives a perfect teaser of what the full album has in store. Her voice soars in a multi-layered swirl of crafty production while the arrangement crackles with an energy that reflects the rousing message of the lyrics. It’s an urgent intonation of positivity that should motivate anyone to get up and move, but it communicates this idea in a most delightfully unusual of ways.
Rising Parisian house head Ben Vedren offers up a remix of the lead track, building on his refined releases for Minibar and Concrete Music amongst others. He brings a noticeably tough undercurrent to his version, using a driving bass-weighted drum set to carry artful slices of Dani’s vocals through a club-ready confection with carefully placed brushstrokes of warmth and melody.
Ben Vedren also turns his hand to the Acapella Remix, stripping the production of the original track right back and replacing it with a simple rhythmic guidance to leave ample space for the vocals to stand on their own. With nothing but a steady grooving kick and snare loop in the way, it’s a track crying out for the kind of creative mixing that music as unique as Dani’s is perfectly suited to.

~ About The Story ~

I got caught in the stream.
The river that wont run dry.
From sunlight to moonbeam,
a constant cycle until we die.

No dodging,  no evasion, no escape.
The river will run with me.
From the source seed to deaths mouth,
it carries life into the dead sea.

But the sea never fills.
Some souls fly to heaven whilst the rest drown.
And as the souls congregate at the gates,
they'll step through to fall back down,
and do it all over again.

~ Chapters ~

This story was translated by an ancient scribe and is told in different ways ways depending on the culture. The chapters have been lost but the story remains intact. 

~ Notes ~

Campfire Stories is a mix series by friends of Silent Season. The focus of the series is on storytelling through deeper electronic music. Artists weave together narratives using the emotional characteristics of ambient and techno music.

After a Sound Engineering Degree at <a href="http://www.sae.edu/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Paris SAE Institute</a>, he starts to DJ in the capital clubs and parties (<a href="http://www.batofar.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Batofar</a>, <a href="http://www.djoon.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Djoon</a>, <a href="http://www.opa-paris.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">OPA</a>...; <a href="http://www.technoparade.fr/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Techno Parade</a>...), and signs tracks to various labels (<a href="http://www.timehaschanged.com" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Time Has Changed</a>, <a href="http://www.backandforthrecordings.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Back and Forth</a>, <a href="http://www.jettrecords.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Jett Records</a>...) that are played by international artists (Josh Wink, Radio Slave, Marco Carola...) Back in the South since 2010, he is determined to focus on DJing and production. @hydrangeamusic ’s life as a producer and DJ began relatively recently, when in 2014 she began expressing the quietness, wonder and intensity of nature in techno. For this prodigious French talent, creating and selecting music is an act of entering a deeper dimension, both transcendent and grounded in the hypnotic beauty of the natural world.

As a producer, she has released her own productions – which are lucid, mesmerising, arresting – on @annulled_music, @two-two-records, and @silent-season.

As a DJ, she is equally inspired by the dancefloors she plays to across Europe as by the nature around her home. She describes this mix for Patterns of Perception as a musical trip for one of her walks in the forest, creating an inner journey while being connected with the surroundings.

In a relatively short period of time, the Munich-born artist has released a large number of incredibly emotional tracks on consistent labels such as <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.t2x.eu/">Time To Express</a>, <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://vakant.net/">Vakant</a>, <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.harrykleinrecords.de/">Harry Klein Records</a>, <a target="_blank" title="Frozen Border's Discogs page" href="http://www.discogs.com/label/Frozen+Border">Frozen Border</a> (through the pseudonym #.4.26.) or <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.iliantape.de/">Ilian Tape</a>, the label he created in 2007 with <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.iliantape.de/mueller/">Mueller</a> (the <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.iliantape.de/">Ilian Tape</a>'s graphic designer) and his not less talented brother <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.iliantape.de/marco-zenker/">Marco Zenker</a>. This profound Phonons episode is an additional proof that the <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://harrykleinclub.de/">Harry Klein Club</a> resident is not only a brilliant composer but also a great disk jockey.

Phonons Podcast 003 - Dario Zenker

Hydrangea is a French deep techno producer inspired by nature and its surroundings. Her career as an artist began in 2014 when she released her first full-length album Dawn Lights under the Annulled label.
Influenced by the hypnotic Italian techno and ambient electronica, Hydrangea began creating her own tracks with the prospect of sharing her story and perspective through music.
In the same year, she followed up her debut with Escape From Reality, a nine-track self-released album. In addition to her albums, she has also released a variety of EPs such her latest one on Natch Records, Osmosis. Besides her work as a techno producer, she also works as a graphic designer and photographer under the aliases “Horty Shorter/Aegna Hyrd” through which she regulates the artwork for various music releases and graphic art projects. She’s also taking care of the artworks for the podcast channel, Inveins.

Berlin-based French DJ Laura BCR has been steadily making her mark in the contemporary electronic music scene in recent times, with firm feet in the scene via her various endeavours such as her now defunct, but highly revered and remembered, Bass Cadet Records shop in Berlin where she takes her name from. 

Recent times have seen BCR snap up a residency at Het Magazijn club in The Hague, Netherlands as well as further bookings across the globe at hotspots in the Far East  as well as appearances at many other leading nightclubs such as Tresor, ://about blank, Concrete, Moog and more. Amongst this Laura’s fledgling On Board Music label, born out of her agency of the same name, has already gained recognition from many influential figures and platforms, yet another telling sign of her knowledge and ability to curate and connect the sounds that surround her.
