Made from material gathered during the Biosphere Soundscape residency in Sian Ka'an Mexico. The cracking sound is a crocodile hitting the boat with its tail, the drones are derived from boat engines.

I've been really inspired by the series 'Playing the Skyline' on BBC Radio 4, so decided to write a piece for a stretch of skyline that's always fascinated me.

The place is an old WW2 airfield on the edge of the village of Wroughton in Wiltshire, and the entire site is scattered with steel and concrete hangars that seem to curve up off the Downs and into the clouds. If you stand on the Ridgeway and look down onto the cracked runway, you can almost hear the sound of long lost aircraft making their final approach.

London based musician and artist who plays guitar with loop stations and various effects pedals. Throughout the years he has sonically developed his personal vocabulary where music is literally constructed from the instrument itself, by scratching and hitting, abusing and stretching its’ limits. In live performance, this idiosyncratic approach to the instrument, collides with random sampling and incidental loops resulting complex, often furious  rhythms and textures with brief melodies.

Improvisation plays essential role with his approach towards live performances – it’s always spontaneous, ever changing and adjusting and never fixed activity with the direct influence by the audience. Solo playing forms significant part of his search for whatever is endlessly variable, the construction of a  sonic language, where all parts are always and equally available. Throughout the years he has collaborated with numerous artists in a variety of contexts from acoustic performances to large-scale orchestral work.
