We’ve got a special treat for you on this WUMP Wednesday, so shut out the noise of the world and press play. 

The fusion of @Pi-Wrecks & @RecycledFunk is a match made in electro-soul heaven, and despite the song title, the love for these musicians is burning HOT in our hearts. Recycled Funk’s iconic guitar licks and saxophone accents blend seamlessly with Pi Wrecks’ signature textures, resulting in a piece that tells a story of longing through sheaths of blue emotion. Time and time again, Pi Wrecks creates art that aims to convey a mood or emotion to foster human connection, focusing on the journey instead of “the big drop.” Combining this depth of emotion with the brilliant instrumentation of Recycled Funk, “Love Has Died” takes us inward and invites us to FEEL. Subtle progressions carry us into the different sections, layering instrumentation and crescendoing bass textures to sneakily get your whole body moving as the purposeful percussion hits home. When the instrument melodies temporarily dissolve into the background toward the end, we’re given an experimental climax of glitchy bassy goodness that’ll bring a smile to your face in cathartic release.

The first track off of my upcoming album "Slivers of Light". This track, as all of them are on the album, has a certain message and meaning. We all struggle with depression and anxiety and it can often lead to suicidal thoughts. This song is a depiction of the battle that goes on in our mind between our different thoughts.  "One of these days, it will all be over" the first voice says as the dark thoughts set in, the next words are "I said we ain't going to cry" reminding us to stay strong and not let the little things work us up. As the song and thoughts progress, Nas chimes in and says "life is a bitch and then you die", the dark thoughts start to come back and the energy picks up in the song. As we move closer to the end, a pleasant voice says "we cry sometimes", "I want to get to know the scene" and keeps reminding us to "Hold on". The final words in the songs are "nothings going to stop me baby, no no no no" as our mind starts to see why we need to continue on and brings us confidence for our journey ahead.

"You Create You" is the third track on the album, its focus is mainly on our guitarist Lee Kromakode. Lee has been the biggest help throughout this entire project, all samples were recorded at his studio and he helped a lot in creating melodies for our musicians while recording samples for the album. This song is dedicated to him and to his dedication to Pi Wrecks. "You Create You" is about creating your own identity, be original, be different, and don't be scared to push boundaries.

I made this song after finally watching Clockwork Orange for the first time. That's where the name comes from. "They say success is happiness, I don't know if it applies in this case, but I do know I wouldn't be doing anything else."

"The Trap" has a pretty deep meaning, It is about falling in love with a hobby which in this case it was producing music for me. We fall in love with the hobby and start to become obsessed over it, only to end up wanting to make that hobby a career. We become so obsessed with making this dream a reality that we start to lose touch with other facets of life. We end up doing this hobby all day, everyday and make sacrifices to make sure we are able to do so. This is what I call "The Trap", we are trapped in this obsession, but now is that obsession a bad thing or good thing? I feel it depends on how many lives you touch while doing so but you can be the judge on that. Is this a real life you are living every day?

It's hard to be me, it's hard to be you, we all have our ongoing battles and no life is easier than the next. Even the rich die from drug overdoses and suicides. The battles we've won make us who we are and we would not be the same person if not gone though those battles. Cherish the battles and enjoy the moments when you have few. I wrote this song while dealing with many battles from finances to relationships eating away at me. I'm happy to say that most of those battles have been won for now but for anyone going through a tough time, I hope this song and album finds you well.
