Ryan Davis says his new album ‘Through The Mirror Glass’ has existed in idea-form for a very long time – most of his life, in fact. The album is inspired by the movies he grew up watching with soundtracks by James Horner, Thomas Newman and Jóhann Jóhannsson, and the tropes and rhythms of electronic music. Davis has wanted to connect the two ever since he started producing, so this album is his first full-length foray into cinematic electronic music.

In 2001 Davis’ bought a pair of turntables and started DJing at local bars. His first releases were unnamed white label tracks mainly produced on his primitive desktop computer. He couldn’t afford decent speakers so he’d shuttle back and forth to clubs in Magdeburg to play the track, then drive home to make edits. In 2007 he co-founded his own vinyl label Maripoza, which means butterfly in Spanish, and launched his digital labels Klangwelt and Back Home a few years later.

In 2006 he released his first solo EP, which sold close to 1500 copies on vinyl. He released dozens of tracks throughout the late 2000s and became a pioneer of the neo-trance movement. But he always maintained an interest in classical, cinematic and downtempo composition despite his dance-floor ready releases. So his debut album ‘Particles of Bliss’ on Traum Schallplatten in 2012, which married low-tempo and ambient tracks with up-beat, danceable productions, revealed the full spectrum of his musical interest.

Davis teamed up with Anjunadeep for the first time in 2012 with a remix of Andrew Bayer’s catalogue classic ‘Gaff’s Eulogy’. This led to a series of EPs showcasing the melodic, downtempo side to his artistry. He’d long wanted to create a full-length project for Anjuna, so when Above & Beyond launched Reflections in 2022, Davis knew he’d found the perfect home for his next album. 

“With electronic music I have access to a never-ending palette of sounds. This album has been inside me for ages, but computers just weren’t good enough. I didn’t know how to arrange notes to create an orchestra or to record a violin, but now Spitfire Audio has built these incredible samples. I have BBC One’s orchestra at my fingertips.”

Ultimately, Ryan Davis hopes ‘Through The Mirror Glass’ will act as a sonic space to reflect and hold fragile memories. The mirror glass is a way to look at yourself, and simultaneously look behind you, at what’s brought you to this point.

DJ and producer Sam Farsio’s (aka Socio Robots) passion for music started at a early age. His audio talents have evolved him top spots in the Dubai clubbing circuit with his refined selection “deep Techy” and “sexy” house music. His reputation as one of the quickest rising DJ’s and his unrelenting commitment to the music scene has gained him much respect and notoriety in the industry.

Sam started his line of production and his first ever release which was a remix for Namito - Minou hit as it reached the 100 Beatport charts and made him more successful in this field. To date he has been offered to create remixes for Robert Babicz , Martin Eyerer, Mark Knight, Namito, Amin Golestan, Xavi, Pierre Ravan and many top performers.

Sam Farsio has been lined up for gigs in France, Bahrain, Dubai, Oman, Turkey, Thailand and Russia. He has worked & Played closely with artist such as Mark Knight, Namito, Shonky, Lee Burridge.

Rather than any particular genre or musical groups, Farsio says that his brand of house is influenced more by life experiences. He does, however, claim his biggest inspirations as Depeche Mode, Jamiroquai, Guns and Roses and even Michael Jackson. The DJ that was most influential on him was Steve Lawler admiring his passion and dedication to DJ-ing and clubbers.

'Release number fourteen on San Francisco’s Manjumasi sees the return of Saultloom for his second dedicated artist EP. No stranger to the imprint, Saultloom debuted his new production project on 2017’s head-turning Kowtow EP, quickly followed up by the inclusion of “Canoodle” on the Six Swords VA. The new Susurrus EP marks just over one year since that debut, highlighting the continued maturation of his unique sound and artistic voice.
The title track “Susurrus” is a perfect reflection of Saultloom’s style: deep, contemplative and mysterious. A tapestry of deep, warm synths create the canvas over which rich washes of atmospherics are painted, creating a moving sonic image that is at once forceful and delicate. The second track “Insula” dives deeper into the depths. An insistent undulating synth slowly but insistently builds in energy over a brooding groove, just before giving way to a haunting and trippy breakdown built around a vocal sample that sits perfectly at the edge of interpretation. Finally, “Take Me Out” rounds out the package with a slowed-down chuggy rhythm and psychedelic washes of abstract organic and vocal elements.'
