A few months back, anyone landing on this page was extended an invitation to….“come set for a spell in The Blue Room…..when nobody loves you.”  Well, took a while, but I reckon the word’s getting out amongst the broken hearted - this smoky little back-alley jazzabilly joint been seeing some semi-decent crowds lately.  Might have to add a couple more tables over there in that side area where we been storing the old feltless pool table.   

I dunno, maybe there really are a lot of lonely hearts out there, looking for companionship.  But my bet is that the real draw here is the new act on stage, as the house band is now joined by two long-time Atlanta musicians - Herb Avery and his Hammond organ, and Randy Hunter with his saxophone.   

For this version of the house theme song (aka The Blue Room), not only is my fumbly-finger organ solo replaced with Randy’s stellar saxophone, but I’ve put together a new intro, much more fitting for the new instrumentation.   And btw, brother Herbert not only plays his Hammond on the song, but that’s him you’ll hear playing the background lounge piano as the track opens.

So yeah, come set for a spell (whether you're loved or not), and let Randy & Herb show you their stuff.

This is a cover song written by Lolly Vegas of Redbone. Redbone was a native american rock band. It was a big hit in 1974 and again in 2013 as one of many songs in the outstanding soundtrack for the film "Gaudians Of The Galaxy". I recorded the song with Charlie singing as a birthday present for my wife's niece's son Lucca several years ago. When my wife's sister and her kids were visiting us that year we all decided to go down to my studio and I recorded them singing backing vocals to the song and then we decided to video tape us all lip-syncing to the recorded track. I then later video taped Charlie lip-syncing to the song too. My wife then put all the video tapes together with added commentary before and after the video for Lucca.

 I decided to make a video of the song for YouTube without the personnal coimmentaries. So this video has the following line up: Charlie singing lead and playing the cowbell; Me playing guitar in the stenson hat; my awesome brother playing Bass in the Colombian hat; My wife and her sister Nora and her kids Gabby and Pablo singing back-up. We were all lip-syncing to my recorded track. I think it needs more cowbell, what do you guys think?😂 It was a fun sessions and I thought everyone would get a kick of watching us on the video. My wife video taped my parts and I video taped Charlie and them singing. This is my gift to all my followers so you can see what we look like! Charlie and I are not really much to look at either but we are who we are!😂 I hope you guys like it! It's a great song! (*Easter Egg: That's really me on the Bass! The law of attraction. I can't remember what author championed it. But it's very true in a sense I think. We project and absorb either positivity or negativity. The world and average mind set is showing us negativity on steroids at the moments and as far as I can see people are re-projecting that negativity when they are not conscious about absorbing and re-projecting it.

That's why I feel so strongly in positivity especially now. We can actually get that positive wild fire we need from people to spread empathy instead of apathy. We don't all need to understand that, we just need enough of us to be tuned to ourselves enough to not reproject the negative energy we see in front of us even if we are the target.

It is our true God and lit us our path 4.5 billion years ago. I wasn’t to sure about this song when I first wrote it but it’s grown on me now.
So I’ve decided to release it and it’s just a simple ditty recorded on my mini boss.
There’s something very organic and rewarding about recording on the box as it’s referred to.
