When the state of people of the world seems out of whack, I take comfort in Mother Nature’s equinox, a day when light and darkness are in balance. This year’s equinox occurs on a new moon, a rare event and a symbol for setting intentions for new life with gratitude for blessings already received.

For us living in the top half of the earth, we will see less light until the passage of Winter Solstice. For friends living in the lower half of the planet, may you enjoy the coming of the light until it fully blooms at Summer Solstice. Until then, on the equinox, 22 of September, 2025, we jointly experience an equality of night and day 🌚🌞

While Equinox presents us with equal day and night, the song definitely expresses my personal sadness at the reality of light fading into winter in my half of the world. The diminishing of light also reminds me of Dylan Thomas’ poem, Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night, in which he wrote, “Rage, rage against the dying of the light.” So the music is truthful, and like all personal truths, this, too, will change. And can change as fast as a trip south of the sun-drenched Equator 😀✌️

Bob Dylan's "Roll On John" is an elegy to John Lennon, inspired by a public minibus tour Dylan took of Lennon's childhood home in Liverpool in 2009. The song explores themes of fame, aging, and mortality, contrasting Lennon's tragic death with the enduring legacy of St. John the Apostle, another "John" who suffered but whose "light" shines on. 
The Stanleys come from Liverpool and initialy made this cover  from a jam session as John Lennon has always been a big influence. 
The Beatles tour starts at a near by place called The Picton Clock and Dylan’s visit is well known here in Wavertree Liverpool. Our take on this song which is over 5 minutes may have a difficult time getting heard for obvious reasons. Recently it was pointed out that all the songs on Rubber Soul are around 2 minutes long. Hello thank you again for visiting my soundcloud page. I am pretty sure I posted this track some time in the past so please forgive me if you've heard it already. Hopefully you liked it and are happy to hear it again. This is track 01 from my upcoming album. I usually start a song on the piano but this one started with the lyrics, which I wrote with a pencil and paper in the car while driving...I don't recommend anyone doing that as I almost got into a wreck, which is the ONLY reason I remember this story. Luckily I made it home to put music to it. When Dave came over and heard it, he immediately came up with a bridge,  which I loved and kept!!!!

The players on this track are Dave Zeiher and Dan Zimmerman on guitars, Larry Antonino/Dave Barber on Bass, Matt Laug on drums, Lorenzo Martinez on Percussion, Brian Mann on Accordion, and Angus Cooke on Cello. I credit Dave Zieher for his cool ideas on the rhythm track arrangement. The song seemed to scream for a Beatle's vibe when I first wrote it and  Dave Zeiher really made  that happen. The late Robinson Eikenberry was the recording engineer for most of the rhythm tracks and we did the basic rhythm tracks (bass,drums,gtr,scrtch vox) in a basement studio in Santa Barbara.

Pieter Rotthier - Belgian artist, based in Antwerp. He produces electronic music, a blend of techno, house, ambient and experimental electronics. His music has often a darker or more melancholic vibe, often mixing synths with more organic sounds like piano, strings and brass. It is danceable, but it also serves as a soundtrack for movies, that yet have to be made.

Quick on the drawing is also a visual artist, making drawings (hence the name), paintings and illustrations. The artwork of the tracks are exclusively made by Quick on the drawing.
