Jimi Needles, Drummer, Turntablist, Producer and Party Rocker hailing from London, joins forces with apparel connoisseurs Fanboy for his new funky hip hop release ‘Float On’. 

FANBOY was born out of an obsession for collectibles, sportswear and a need to create something positive for the scenes and people that we love. 

Based in Scotland, we’re teaming up with some of the best artists and designers across the globe, with a focus on homegrown talent, to build a solid brand that people can love and trust. FANBOY is that beautiful place where business meets creativity while keeping it's integrity, which – for us – is the place to be. 

We take influence from graffiti, skateboarding, tattoo culture and locally homegrown music. This by no means defines us, but it’s the stuff that catches our eye and inspires us to do what we do. 

We are the opposite of high street culture. We want to epitomise what it means to be yourself. We aim to nourish, build upon, and stand on the shoulders of the talented scene that already exists in Scotland, but for too long has been drowned out by other places deemed bigger and better. 

We ignore the tagalongs, cool dudes and posers. We represent individuality and originality. We are on our own unique path of hard work and dope artist collaborations, to spread what we love far and wide. We are about longevity. Fuck a fast buck.

Relative Dimensions kick off 2017 with a massive bang. In 1998 Air gave us the amazing moon safari album.
In 2017 it's been given a remix of huge proportions. We kick off with JPrimes reworking of 'Ce Matin La', heavy drums, base that'll make granny get out of the rocking chair, and a heavy slice of PE thrown in.
Up next is Leygo and his rework of the classic 'Kelly Watch the stars'. A mellow house huge dancefloor chugger that remains sympathetic to the original.
Then, who else than Monstafunk. When Air made 'Sexy Boy' little did they know that one of the best remixers in the game would drop lyrics on top of it about pussy, ass, and weed. All trademarks of the genius that is Monstafunk.
Lastly, Vinyl Messi takes 'All I need', picks it up, gives it a shake, and gives it a DnB flavour that would make even the most dour Parisian get on the dancefloor.
Moon Safari Remixed is a modern day classic.

Bombstrikes continues to expand its musical horizons via their growing series of expertly curated compilation albums with this, the first volume of Disco Funkin'. For a label so at home in all things Funk related, it was always going to be something special when they added Disco to their focus whilst of course keeping the funk very much at the core. And who better to curate the first album than the fast rising stars Shaka Loves You. Having gained the Craig Charles seal or approval on air many times and also supporting legends such as the Jacksons and The Sugarhill Gang, the Glasgow duo have already shown their pedigree for such music. As recent releases from the Shaka boys show, they are carving out their own sound within the scene and always deliver music of the highest quality.

The duo's skills at seeking out killer grooves are very much on show here with the album's track listing reading like a 'who's who' of the scene. Avoiding the obvious route and disco cliches, the pair have assembled an exquisite range of music spanning across many elements of forward thinking disco and funk. Featuring a selection of album exclusives including new material from the boys them selves, there are also some stone cold classics and new discoveries from the likes of Dimitri From Paris, The Reflex, Kraak & Smaak, Lack of Afro and Sebastian. Further highlighting how the compilation has such a high calibre of artists and a diverse take on the sound is shown by the inclusion of not one, but two members of legendary Hip Hop group Jurrassic 5, in the form of Chali 2na and Fullee Love (Aka Soup).
There is more than enough music here for both the most ardent disco fan but also the more casual listener as well. If the track listing wasn't enough already there is also a DJ mix of the album to take the listenor on a journey and keep things grooving. This is a heavyweight compilation and sets the bar extremely high for what is follow!

Pump Up The Funk features a wide range of vocalists from all over the world with one common goal – to add a new chapter to the much-loved story of funk and soul. Street poet and live performer MC Kitch from Australia, drops rhythmic party rap on the Introduction and Ghetto Funkalicious tunes while the UK's talented MC Coppa lays down his trademark dynamic vocals on summer jam One Of Those Days. USbased Leon The Pro, slams some b-boy rapping on soul cut In A Hurry, Italian MC Rayna gets her swing on in the Hit It Maestro jam and Claire G Phunk from Australia, delivers soulful vocals on Ghetto Funk Joint Whatcha Gonna Do For Me. Finally Michael DeVellis and vocalist Nina Zeitlin from New York get
busy on the groovy What's It Gonna Be. 

Throughout the album, multi-talented Michael DeVellis, lays down live-recorded horns, strings, keys and flutes to create original soul and funk on the tracks. Furthermore, BadboE has gone back to sample some diamonds from rare old funk and soul 45’s to ensure the presence of those authentic magical vibes from
back in the day. As if that wasn’t enough, BadboE even takes on the challenge of recreating the Hunk Fop tune by German funk group Grand Slam from the original master tapes.

The result is cast iron proof that the funk is still very much alive in 2012 in a vital contemporary form. The ghetto funk genre is now a worldwide phenomenon with active scenes in Europe, Canada and Australia and word spreads further by the day. As long as BadboE is around, it's a certified fact that there will be enough funky street jams around to get the whole world on board to celebrate the funk!
