Here is the mysterious and playful sound-world of obscure Belgian multi-instrumentalist and library music composer Joël Vandroogenbroeck. The man could play flute, sitar, harp, keyboard instruments and was interested in various kind of exotic percussion. Vandroogenbroeck is also famous for being a synth player in a cult Swiss psychedelic and space rock outfit Brainticket in the 1970s.

This show explores Joël’s vast library music output and focuses primarily on his records for German label Coloursound. The establishment was set up in 1979 by jazz musician and lawyer Gunter Greffenius and released all sort of amazing wacky music in a vast array of genres covering all sorts of soundtrack-appropriate stuff, various types of classical /jazz music(s), but also frequently venturing out into electronica, ambient, new age and experimental oddness.

Zahllose intensive Konzertabende unter Sternbrücken und Kranichen, musikalischen Schwalben aus aller Welt, auch immer wieder transformiert in Konserven und bis heute regelmäßig hörbar, so nun erstmals in der Form und dem tollen neuen Namen INTERCEPT TANGO RADIO über die schnelle Welle. Inhaltlich ist von ganz fragil und verhuscht bis schillernd und schunkelnd alles erdenklich. Robert Etzold. Manchmal Gäste. Manchmal der neue bfrocast. Devourer of sounds, restless DJ and a unique voice on the Spanish scene, Gela’s musical journey began in Murcia in 2003, and since then has been continually imbued with the musical influences of the different corners of the world to which she’s travelled. It’s no wonder disco, cosmic funk, Brazilian music, acid house, dark 80s new wave, low bpm techno, electro, ambient and 90s breaks all co-inhabit in her sets. In 2013 she settled in Madrid, where she reunited with Madame Excuse, friend and likeminded DJ with whom she formed Iguana, the project in which they DJ and produce together. Gradually, Gela has carved out a well-deserved place in the Madrid club scene, including a very celebrated residency at Club Berlín, and in recent months she’s greatly expanded her range, playing out in places such as Razzmatazz and Freedonia in Barcelona, Corsica Studios in London, Wilden Renate and About Blank in Berlin, Dabadaba in Donosti, and the Red Light Radio station in Amsterdam. Gela reached several milestones in 2022, such as playing at Sónar or handing it over to Laurent Garnier in Madrid. This year, she has been selected for Keychange, a european programme for bringing underrepresented talent to the front in the music industry.
