Kissin My Love

For those of you who haven't discovered Orlando "The Don" Lund, here's your opportunity.  Orlando is a serious pro, having built a career as a writer, multi instrumentalist and producer in London during the '90s Soul Funk era, leading and creating with some of the finest contemporary jazz and funk musicians in Europe. Orlando approached me about playing on a tune I had released here, What the Funk, quickly sending 5 tasty tracks to me - a solid grooving bass line, a congas line, two rhythm guitar tracks and a George Benson style guitar solo.  I've worked them all in here, adding them to all my keyboard parts, creating some sweet soul jazz for your listening pleasure. Deeper - Couch King and Russ

I think this track started 2 years ago. I remember talking about the vision with Jamie on the phone and then Jamie sent me a bunch of stems to choose from. I chose the standing bass and recorded my verse with a 90’s vibe in mind. I sent the track over to Russell to add some guitars, he sent that funk rock intro and riff back, and then I don’t know what happened after that? A bunch of other songs got made and the vision for this track expanded to include cutting my second verse and bringing Jon Lock in on vocals. Then the song sat again. Jon and I even started and completed And So You Say and Training Day after we had already got this song started. Since this track was visioned to be part of the first song on the set with Training Day, eventually it had to be completed. Wou-Wou then join in with his synths, rhythm guitar over Jon’s part, and some additional guitar over the first section. This gave the track the final fire it needed and Russell mixed and mastered it like a champ!

As always, massive thanks to Wou-Wou and Russell who have been regular collaborators on so many projects, on SoundCloud, Facebook, and Bandcamp. Wou and Russell will always be the core of my musical team. Thanks for being great friends! 
Big thanks also to Jon, who I have worked with on 3 songs now, with 2 more in the works already!

Hi, my name is Stephan Lipinski, or other wise known as "Pinner". I am a jazz/rock/fusion guitarist from New Jersey. I began playing back in the sixth grade and was fortunate to study with Jazz Great Vic Juris while in high school (http://vicjurisjazz.com/). My biggest and most direct influences include Robben Ford (www.robbenford.com/) Vic Juris (http://vicjurisjazz.com) Scott Lerner (http://www.scottlernermusic.com/) and Chuck D'Aloia (http://chuckdaloiamusic.com/) I have played in everyting from jazz to rock bands, and latest project was an acoustic duo called Kosmik Kow. Even though I am not in formal group now, I can been found at local jam sessions and sitting in with some friend's bands. My current gear includes a Collings i35lc, Collings City Limits, SVL 61 Reserve, Suhr S1 and a Mark Jenny Reliced Telecaster into a Fuchs Overdrive Supreme Bassman Mod (with some additional mods by Scott Lerner) into a Glaswerks 2x12 with Celestion G12-65's.I am a big fan of Dumble style amplifiers lol. I use Curt Mangan strings on all my guitars.
