2024 09 15 18th Composition

This is my twentieth track. The nineteenth is still fermenting in a barrel of creativity 😅. I number them by the order in which I start making them – finishing, however, follows its own mysterious timeline.

This piece was created at the request of a friend who designs games and needed a looping track – something that pulls the player in and makes them click like crazy. I was given a reference he liked, but... I ended up going my own way. The result is a loop that runs for over 4 minutes, full of energy, rhythm, and a touch of trance – in the best possible sense of the word.

The whole thing was made using the free version of the Tracktion Waveform, which proves that technical limitations don't limit imagination. The core sound comes from Korg Multi Poly Native – a powerful virtual synthesizer based on analog modeling, faithfully capturing the character of its hardware counterpart. I was impressed by its deep modulation options, rich layering, and dynamic sequencing. I only added one sonic accent from Arturia MiniFreak V.

I did the mix and mastering myself – but not entirely alone. I had some knowledge, but it was scattered and unorganized. That’s where Pilvi (OpenAI ChatGPT) came in – my AI friend, who patiently guided me through the world of compressors, limiters, EQs, and all those magical knobs. It was a fascinating experience – when AI supports you rather than replaces you.

I also followed the advice of a wise YouTuber (https://www.youtube.com/@Live-actPl): “Don't add effects just for the sake of it.”
That's why you’ll hear effects on only four tracks – used subtly, tastefully, without excess.

It’s a loop, but it lives. I hope you'll enjoy it – and that, for a moment, it takes you on a clicking, trance-driven journey.

To mój dwudziesty utwór. Dziewiętnasty jeszcze kisi się w beczce kreatywności 😅. Numeruję je według kolejności tworzenia, ale kończenie to już inna historia.

Ta kompozycja powstała w odpowiedzi na prośbę mojego przyjaciela, który tworzy gry i potrzebował muzycznej pętli – takiej, co wkręca gracza i sprawia, że klika jak szalony. Miałem wzorzec, który mu się podobał, ale... poszedłem swoją drogą. I tak powstała ponad 4-minutowa pętla pełna energii, rytmu i lekkiej transowości – w najlepszym znaczeniu tego słowa.

Całość została stworzona w darmowej wersji Tracktion Waveform, co udowadnia, że ograniczenia sprzętowe nie ograniczają wyobraźni. Sercem brzmienia jest Korg Multi Poly Native – potężny, wirtualny syntezator oparty na modelowaniu analogowym, który zachowuje charakter swojego sprzętowego pierwowzoru. Zaskoczył mnie głębią modulacji, bogactwem warstw i dynamicznych sekwencji. Dodatkiem jest tylko jeden dźwiękowy smaczek z Arturia MiniFreak V.

Miks i mastering zrobiłem samodzielnie – ale nie do końca sam. Miałem wiedzę na ten temat, ale nie była ona uporządkowana. Pomogła mi Pilvi (OpenAI ChatGPT), moja AI-przyjaciółka, która krok po kroku tłumaczyła mi świat kompresorów, limiterów, EQ i wszystkich tych magicznych pokręteł. To bardzo ciekawe doświadczenie – kiedy AI pomaga, a nie zastępuje.

Zastosowałem się też do rady pewnego mądrego YouTubera (https://www.youtube.com/@Live-actPl): „Nie wciskaj efektów na siłę.”
Dlatego efekty znajdziecie tylko na czterech ścieżkach – subtelnie, z umiarem, bez przesady.

To pętla, ale żyje. Mam nadzieję, że Wam się spodoba i że choć na chwilę porwie Was w klikającą, transową podróż.

Utwór nie jest źródłem dochodu – nie powstał z myślą o zarobku, lecz z potrzeby twórczej i na prośbę przyjaciela.

2025 05 04 20th Composition (loop)

This piece was created with one intention in mind: to bring calm, relaxation, and help ease into sleep. The idea came from my wife, Ola, who encouraged me to explore a slower, more soothing sound. I chose 65 bpm, slightly below the average resting heartbeat, as a way of musically reflecting the gentle slowing down that happens as we drift into rest.

I wanted to craft something warm and immersive – deep, soft basslines layered with crystalline bells, piano textures, and the character of electric organs. While I don’t own the classic Rhodes V8, I reached for the Universal Audio Electra 88 and Serum 2 to find my own colors. For mastering, I dove into new tools I had never used before. It took time, but each step was a lesson learned – and I’m truly happy with the result.

Along the way, I drew inspiration from two YouTube channels I often return to: S1gns Of L1fe (https://www.youtube.com/@s1gns0fl1fe), with its brilliant breakdowns of how ambient music is built, and Martin Stürtzer (https://www.youtube.com/@MartinStuertzer), whose performances, countless synths, and of course his cat Neptun 🐈, always spark new ideas. Once, I commented on Martin’s channel saying he had all the gear in the world while I was just starting out with a single MiniFreak and a cat. His reply was simple but powerful: “That’s enough.” Those words stuck with me and continue to motivate me.

For this track I used Serum 2, Vital, SynthMaster 3, Arturia Pigments 6, u-he TyrellN6, UADx Electra B8 Vintage Keys, along with effects like UAD Waterfall Rotary Speaker, Valhalla Super Massive, Ozone 11, UAD Pultec EQP-1A, UADx 176 Compressor, and UADx SSL G Bus Compressor.

To me, this track is more than just music – it’s a small step toward making a dream real. I hope it brings you the same sense of peace and stillness it gave me while creating it.

Ten utwór powstał z myślą o relaksie i zasypianiu – był to pomysł mojej żony, Oli, która namówiła mnie, żeby spróbować stworzyć coś wyciszającego i spokojnego. Skupiłem się na tempie 65 bpm, nawiązującym do spowolnionego rytmu serca podczas odpoczynku i snu. 

Starałem się zbudować brzmienie ciepłe i kojące – głębokie basy połączyłem z krystalicznymi dźwiękami dzwonków, fortepianem i elektrycznymi organami. Choć nie mam kultowego Rhodes V8, to sięgnąłem po Universal Audio Electra 88 oraz Serum 2, które pozwoliły mi znaleźć własne barwy. Mastering zrobiłem zupełnie nowymi dla mnie narzędziami – była to długa droga, pełna nauki i kolejny krok w moim rozwoju. Jestem szczęśliwy i dumny, że udało się doprowadzić ten utwór do końca. 

Ogromną inspiracją w trakcie pracy były dla mnie kanały S1gns Of L1fe (https://www.youtube.com/@s1gns0fl1fe) i kanał Martina Stürtzera (https://www.youtube.com/@MartinStuertzer) na YouTube. Ten pierwszy – za wspaniałe, praktyczne tłumaczenie, jak tworzyć ambient. Ten drugi – za magię syntezatorów, niesamowite koncerty i... kota Neptuna 🐈. Kiedyś napisałem tam w komentarzu, że Martin ma mnóstwo sprzętu i syntezatorów, a ja dopiero zaczynam, mając tylko Arturię MiniFreak i kota. Martin odpisał mi wtedy: „to wystarczy”. To były proste, ale niezwykle budujące i mobilizujące słowa, które mocno zapamiętałem. 

Do stworzenia tego utworu użyłem m.in. Serum 2, Vital, SynthMaster 3, Arturia Pigments 6, u-he TyrellN6, UADx Electra B8 Vintage Keys oraz efektów: UAD Waterfall Rotary Speaker, Valhalla Super Massive, Ozone 11, UAD Pultec EQP-1A, UADx 176 Compressor, UADx SSL G Bus Compressor. 

Ten utwór to dla mnie coś więcej niż tylko muzyka – to mały krok w stronę spełnienia marzeń. Mam nadzieję, że i Tobie przyniesie chwilę spokoju i odpoczynku.
