Something Happening Somewhere returns with a new collection of stories unified under the brand new NOWHERE compilation series. Shards of tales long forgotten are told and retold by a group of fellow travellers, exploring sounds in many shapes and forms. Sailing towards an unknown destination, revealed here are the hymns luring you into the abyss… 

NOWHERE 01 is set to be released as a twelve track tour de force containing a myriad of fresh sounds build from uncharted odysseys along a host of forgotten pearls. Quince, Tracey, Sigward, Patlac, Love Over Entropy & Pete Blaker, Kiani & His Legion and Fader From Borneo all provide freshly crafted propellants. Also taking the opportunity to reimagine music by Kurt Baggaley, Fatima Yamaha, Mayaku / Dilated Pupils, Lover Over Entropy / Versalife and Quince. Distilled from this full blown three-mast comes a vinyl sampler containing five carefully selected tracks. Something is happening somewhere, but where…? 

The NOWHERE voyage is designed by our favourite designer Quentin Deronzier and for the Vinyl Sampler we’re creating a unique silkscreen printed remix of his visual articulation. The face of a mortal being exposed from every angle it discloses every achingly beautiful, enchanting and haunting detail there is to discover. There are things hiding in the murky depths of the seawater, discoveries not to be looked into the eye and sounds never to be resonated by an eardrum. Perhaps nowhere is actually a place worth visiting.

For Those That Knoe delves deeper into the archives once more to repackage a bundle of hard to find cuts on vinyl that have been staple supplies in Ben's record bag over the years.

The early to mid 2000s was a period of minimal techno overload, finding quality house music then was a challenge compared to today. Rather than follow the herd, some European producers took influence from the original minimal pioneers and fused those approaches with house music themes in order to push a unique sound of the era. They turned minimal on its head and gave took it in a different direction. Canson from Switzerland released a handful of records between 2002 and 2005 that were a prime example of this aesthetic. Stripped back beats with syncopated melodies - perfect cuts for those early sets or hazy morning sessions. 

The three tracks featured on this compilation were originally released on two solo EPs for Canson: Itsudemo and Holiday Plug In, both of which have claimed squatter's rights in my record bag for almost 15 years. I don't think I've played one early slot or house set without one of them. This record is quite a personal one for me as it’s a representation of my deeper sound as a DJ. Now the original records are a little hard to find so I'm so glad to share my choice picks of Canson's material on a my label.

Every few years we receive a demo from Poland which makes us speechless. The first was Pol_On, the next Tanzlife & ID Ensemble and now Piotr Bejnar and Oskar Szafraniec. Piotr is an eccentric figure in Warsaw’s electronic music scene and the man behind the tasteful labels Otake Records and 2529KM, while Oskar resides in Berlin, where cooperations with Ricardo Villalobos and Pier Bucci have given him plenty of attention, showcasing his versatile productions on several prestigious labels. 

For their Connaisseur debut, the two talents locked themselves into the studio for several days, creating an impressive output for this short amount of time. From their demo, we picked the four tracks which fascinated us most. The final result is a two part release, each consisting of two tracks, which will be released with an in-between gap of two weeks. 

"Sleepless Days“ has a more classic house approach with plenty of live played instruments, while "Sleepless Nights“ goes deeper and adds a slighty more techno twist to the productions.
