Refiloe Digoamaye (AKA Ta_Ref) found his creative outlet through the art of DJing, a journey that began with his Pioneer DDJ Controller in his bedroom. Drawing inspiration from the diverse sounds of Johannesburg's underground scene, he started shaping his unique sonic palette. He gains inspiration from his years collecting and listening to a wide range of music from underground hip hop artists such as MF Doom to Dub Techno legends such as Thor. Nickolay Karlov (aka Kolya Karl) started his DJ career in 2007.
He began to show interest in electronic music at school.

Nickolay is a co-organizer of The HIVE parties, where DJs such as Henning Baer, Vakula, Nikita Zabelin, Ishome played. He is the creator and ideological inspirer of the first Siberian electronic music podcast ECHO MIRA.

From the very beginning of his career to this day, he prefers techno music. Deep dub vibe, deep and progressive techno, give special shades to his mixes. Nickolay does not leave aside classical techno in symbiosis with trible and hypnitic sounds, which is definitely worth the attention of a sophisticated listener.

December's episode features an exclusive deep house and dubby techno mix by Refiloe aka Weird Black Guy hailing from Johannesburg, South Africa.

Perception-bender. The art of diversity. These are two strong characteristics that drive Refiloe aka Weird Black Guy towards music. Having had a large serving of underground hip-hop growing up, later on in his life, he quickly looked for the yang to dive into and this became electronic. 

He's spent many nights at club events soaking up as much electronic music regardless of genre. Thereafter, his mind drifted towards focusing on learning how to mix deep house and techno, which unbeknownst him at the time, would be the start of a fruitful and meaningful journey with DJing. His goal is to help connect a wide range of people by injecting his diverse personality into his musical sets.

This mix represents Refiloe's transformation as an artist. Having tried to chase after fame that DJing brings, he realized that he is much happier sharing music with others in the form of long-form mixes. So, the mix here is a true representation of his personality, his musical tastes, and his personal values all combined. He put this together using a Pioneer DDJ-SB2 combined with Rekorbox.
