Some bro listening, writing and supporting Liverpool music. 

Pixels is a dance music band. We play shows in England, and a lot of shows in Liverpool. Critics have by now compared us to everyone, some of which we can see (hot chip, vampi weekies) and some of which we find baffling (Gloria Gaynor, Galliano). But that's cool. Pixels have announced the release of their first single, Dust, which can be streamed exclusively on the soundcloud page up until release on the 1st December 2012. Remember the spirit of 88.  Dole queues getting bigger, the Conservatives in power and class war on the streets.

But at the same time, shining out of the gloom, came the birth of Acid House.  One of the most significant cultural movements of the 20th Century.  Before corporate clubbing in faceless venues with bland promoters always looking at the bottom line, this was community and creativity and spirit.

Now the Tories are back and the number of unemployed is rising again, but thankfully for those of you too young to remember the first time round or those of you who should know better but don’t, we give you The Tea Street Band

They are causing a minor riot every time they play.  In the past 6 months they have organized a series of warehouse raves featuring classic Acid House sets with guest DJs such as Andy Carroll (Cream, The State) as well as modern contemporaries James Rand (Chibuku).

Tea Street Band are a bastard mutilation that in its most extreme combines 808 State with Doves and the gang mentality of The Happy Mondays.  

Their balaeric anthem ‘Fiesta’ is a already a massive hit with the disillusioned youth in Liverpool. A strange and heady concoction that is making their growing fanbase keep coming back for more.  

These kids where not there the first time round but they are doing their best to lead the assault on a new balaeric summer of love in 2012.

Fuck me a real rock n roll band!  This will be a hedonistic adventure to remember.

Liverpool Bands is a celebration of the unsigned music of the City. The player features tracks from bands operating in or from the City -  regularly changing the rules are bands ask to go on and they go on in the order they ask. In this way the player reflects the bands who are out there promoting themselves now but alos then does not reflect a house style.

Primarily a jazz and acoustic singer, but also part-time lyricist who enjoys all good music.I've discovered amazing musicians here that I've had the pleasure of collaborating with. I've also been blessed enough to have one of my song covers used in a car commercial, two have aired on SkyHigh Radio Station and another used on a charity CD for Unicef! So keep your dreams alive whether big or small cause ya never know.
