This is basically just the same as the 'Fifty Year Salute' mix, except incorporating many sounds realised by Delia Derbyshire (samples provided by Danny Stewart), Peter Howell, Dominic Glynn (albeit a minor part in this) and the others who worked in the BBC's Radiophonic Workshop. John Debney gets to feature as well, because why not. [Apologies to Keff McCulloch for not getting a feature here, sorry :(]

03. Alan Silvestri - Back To The Future

My dad gifted me a melodica this year for Xmas, and I haven't had a chance to record anything with it yet, so this is a tribute to him. I happen to have the Inglourious Basterds Sountrack on Vinyl and was listening to it this morning. The Green Leaves of Summer is my favorite piece in the film, and the movie happens to open with this song! What a masterpiece. The harmony and chord progression definitely takes some unexpected turns and was a joy to transcribe! If only I could've gotten that amazing crescendo of strings and choir in the "chorus" part.

The composer, Dimitri Zinovievich Tiomkin was a Russian-born American film composer and conductor. Classically trained in St. Petersburg, Russia before the Bolshevik Revolution, he moved to Berlin and then New York City after the Russian Revolution. This piece was originally written for the 1960 film, The Alamo, and the version was done by Paul Francis Weber, using Dmitri's music.
