Just to remind you: Błażej Malinowski is one of the most recognizable figures of the new wave of Polish techno. With a number of releases for Polish (Minicromusic) as well as foreign (Phorma, Silent Season) labels, he became renowned for his ability to balance the experimental and functional/dancefloor aspects of techno music.
The latter especialy applies to this Deep Impact podcast - from dubby, spacious intro, at a steady and relentless pace it's gaining energy and roughness while keeping it precise and minimalistic.

Great Stuff proudly presents volume nine of it’s “To The Underground” series. The series features solely exclusive tracks. Hand picked with only the dance floor in mind. Tracks that will work crowds and elevate dj sets. 

To The Underground Vol.9 starts off with Alex Stein & K.A.L.I.L.’s “Pipe Dream“. A finely structured techno blockbuster! It features otherworldly bass frequencies, which were created to mesmerize. The morphing groove will bring your dancefloor into a hypnotic state.

Up next is Dialekt & JJ Mullor’s jacking “Disco Down”. This peak time beast consists of the perfect club night ingredients: arpeggiated pads, a howling bassline and a rocking groove.  

Matt & Kendo stir things up with their huge trade mark sound. Supernatural pads, delayed percussion effects and a rumbling, chunky tech-house groove are the solid foundation for “That Sound”.

The specific hallmark of Mr. Lekka’s “She Loves Summer” is its thick, straight forward groove and enormous bassline that supports the engaging vocal snippets and effect sounds in the most stylish way. 

Elmar Strathe’s remix of the recently released “Carpenter” track by Lissat & Voltaxx is a dark, moody excursion into the depths of cutting edge techno! Crisp hats and a rolling, gut wrenching bassline provide the energy while effect drenched drone sounds drill themselves into your subconsciousness.

The punctuated melody & shuffled groove glide a long a tight knit net of percussion sounds, while the bumpy kick brings the right amount of fun. Maris & Elio Riso’s “Bolingas” is a dancefloor sure shot!  

Juanito is closing off this delicious stockpile of the finest electronic music. His “Doble Zeta” track is all about the distinctive and booming classic house groove. Gated synth lines pilot the way through effect-soaked atmospheric fields and intense builds.

Downtempo reminds me to decelerate, to take out the haste of my life, the ever so bustling activity and strive. Slow electronic styles remind me about one of my favorite spiritual principles: to back-pedal (Innehalten) whenever it is possible. This can also mean to listen to the space, the calm, peace and potential between two thoughts.

Or just listening to beats and melodies, to immerse. I contrast the stressful pulsing of life and feel closer to my real self - which maybe is something close to music.

Adrian Niculae a.k.a. Priku established himself as a hard working and passionate music creator. He is a member of Sunrise booking since 2007, making his way up to the big gigs through many noticeable Sunwaves performances. 

He released on labels such as [a:rpia:r], All Inn, Fabric, Concrete Music and Only 300 Family, his name is also on Cocoon Green & Blue 2011 and Cocoon Heroes compilations. 

Throughout he can be seen playing in many important clubs and parties around the world, including Robert Johnson, Amnesia, Kazantip Festival, Tenax, Concrete, all across Europe and as far as the Americas. 

In 2012, Bobohalma Ep was released on [a:rpia:r] label. This was a resounding success, highly appreciated by his colleagues in the industry as well as the general public. 

2013 is a turning point for Priku. He creates his own label: Motif and releases a new solo – Acoustic Ep under his real name, Adrian Niculae, the name that’s also present on Fabric 72. 

Priku's achievements came when still relatively young proving to be extremely talented, when we look at him we can see this sweet and delicate face, however, when we listen to his music, especially his live performances - by definition presenting the core of his identity musically – we call him the “king of basslines”, there is a somewhat adorable contradiction here, sweet face vs dark and very strong music, in the best way possible. That element of surprise and this contradiction makes him an even more fascinating artist. 

In 2016 started a new label and series of parties called Atipic, party by which we hold a residency at Guesthouse. This set is an extract of his set at Atipic at the club in March 2019.

His first approach to music, at the age of 14, was accidental because “nobody wanted to play bass guitar in town” so he learned it and started to play with his friends. It is astonishing how this almost random first step awakened his dormant talent for music which turned a boy into a brilliant electronic producer and music professor. The set that Lagartijeando prepared for UCR features many of his latest productions including seven unreleased tracks. Gentle instrumental sounds of flutes and drums, organic samples and a vibrant electronic beat blend beautifully into an enchanting musical journey which we are pleased to offer to our listeners. One thing that’s clear when you step into the dub techno community is how friendly and giving everyone is. Björn aka pjontec is definitely one of those people. He was very encouraging and supportive of my Journey through Ambient Dub Techno mix series, particularly part 7, and I was happy to make this mix for him. Part 7 featured the heavier, dubbier sounds of dub techno. Björn asked if I could make a mix for his channel similar to that. The rawer and grittier, the better. I dug into my collection for as many dubby tracks I could find. This mix starts gentle and progressively gets grittier and dubbier to the very end. Enjoy my friends!
