To better understand the concept of this album, we need to go back in time, maybe 15 years or so when PH42E and JSwift joined forces, crossing and blending multiple music genres and influences on different bands. Following a breakup with a band where they explored jazz, chill, electronic and jungle influences as musicians and producers, they decided to continue with their creative pursuit producing and playing music together. 

From the very beginning, their work was all about the mind, the deep, heavily influenced by the autonomic movement, displaying extreme accuracy, maturity and aesthetical sense. As they were getting some attention with their exquisite work, they had the oportunity to do some collabs with fellow friends and companions, such as Y.L.S. (as seen on their first releases on Skalator Music), Incendiário, and also taking James Powell out of his comfort zone as a rock vocalist and bringing him to uncharted territories; During this period they got some of these tunes played on Loxy’s CX Podcasts and Bulb’s Into the Deep, amongst others, providing them a special spotlight not only on the Portuguese scene, but also outside borders, bringing them to major lineup events and well deserved recognition. 

Way before expanding and exploring new horizons on production techniques and musical outcomes and becoming what we know them today for, “Early Reflections” is an album compiling some of the early and deep works of Neurotoxin, a time capsule and an ode to the golden days of the Autonomic universe.

"Celebrating one year of Conveyor Audio, we decided to 
solemnise the milestone with a proper release, gathering different 
artists and approaches around the label’s ethos. Putting some old faces together whom we had the chance to release their music previously alongside with some newcomers on our headquarters, and some already well known and established faces on the scene, expanding the spectrum of the label in terms of what you can expect in the future, without a disregard for the doors that have been opened before. 

Despite our intention to keep the label open to multi-genre music and BPM's, this EP is focused on the starting point of Conveyor Audio as a label and on what was the first release, seeking different approaches and outcomes to the dark aesthetic that marked not only the beginning but the path we thrived for the label, making this release a solid but heterogeneous EP, marked by darker ambiences, loaded with heavy but organic beats, approaching a common feel through the various creative inputs of different artists who compose it. 

To make it more solid and meaningful, we chose “Rizoma” as the title for this compilation, the Portuguese word for “Rhizome”, a philosophical current developed by philosophers Deleuze and Guattari whose concept was taken from biology and used to describe a way of thinking that disregards the centralization, hierarchy and dichotomy as prevailing and which, in fact, incorporates the multiple, the multiplicity. Characterized as an a-centered, non-hierarchical system, a rhizome is a “drawing of lines” that connect bulbs of different natures without, however, defining points and positions. These bulbs are not units but dimensions which, when altered, change the nature of the bulb itself; they are multiplicities. In this sense, and transporting this concept to this release, a work (an Album, or a track) can either be analyzed in the light of its whole, but in terms of the various individual points or the influence and intersection of these points with each other, as ramifications within ramifications that expand and intersect, opening links and confluence between elements."
