Fledgling label @envelope-audio are only two releases deep yet already seem to be working on an interesting conceit. The double header isn't a brand new concept by any stretch, with this release seeing fellow compatriots Omar Santis and the ever reliable veteran Håkan Lidbo on the billing.

Exploited mainstay duo NEAT get the remix treatment. We’ve the pleasure of streaming Massimiliano Pagliara remix in full glory today. No stranger to flexing his breezy muscles, the Panorama Bar resident provides the first masterful rework, cooking up an atmospheric house groover that beams towards etherealism with its leading synth melody and acid licks. Secondly, Studio Barnhus affiliate Art Alfie brings his pumping, high-tempo house style to the remix centre.

Next up is Steve Bug’s epic Chordwalk Empire, which gets three new treatments as a part of the remix competition to celebrate the label's 20 years.

Like the other two releases carefully handpicked by the artist of the orginal track from hundreds of entries, the standard remains incredibly high and each track is more than worthy of this official release.

The first remix comes from Theobald Ringer - a techno producer from Brest in northern France. His deep rework is a heavy hitter - full of energy and drive, yet maintaining a sense of melancholy and emotion that shine through.

Facundo Sosa is behind the 2nd remix here. The producer from Buenos Aires, Argentina takes things yet deeper with a classy, slick version that adds a spacy, cosmic layer to the track.

Finally, Esteban Howell shares his El Bicho Remix, representing the underground electronic scene of Central America. Howell provides a rework featuring a thick, rolling bassline, and crisp percussion to support the shimmering synths - while also adding a welcome balearic house feel.

Collaborators & close friends since the foundational years of Berlin and Detroit’s spiritual & musical partnership, two undisputed pioneers of electronic music, Carl Craig and Moritz von Oswald, continue to expand on a shared musical vision. 

‘Attenuator’ is the first production to emerge from a series of studio sessions in Berlin and Detroit over the past two years, with more material to come in the near future. Although originally produced in unison, this two-sided single sees both Craig and von Oswald deliver their own distinct take on the material, each fluidly expanding on their uniquely intertwined heritage.

For his take on ‘Attenuator’, Carl Craig leans further into the fluid blend of track-led techno and warm musicianship that remain central to his work, building stifling tension as a prelude to a fervent brew of warm pads and celestial sax. Headstrong and deep, Craig embraces his dancefloor nous without sacrificing a moment of beatitude

In response, Moritz von Oswald bathes the brass and the bliss of ‘Attenuator’ in the subtle textures he’s long been known for, unspooling layers of musicianship to roll forward a loose, fresh and equally fulfilling atmosphere, one that still maintains the arresting pulse established at the heart of the duo’s sophisticated, futurist philosophy.
