About the EP-*
Once or twice a year, typically after it rains, flamingos gather in a large crowd and start to rave. In a ritualistic shimmy to find mates, they spin their necks side to side, tapping their toes, puttering left and right, and moving together as one adorable pink platoon. Like humans, they even preen before the big dance, using their beaks to apply “makeup” (pigment secreted from their posteriors) to make their feathers extra bright.

The No. 015 on Plötzlich Musik is the Eridu EP of our beloved Edgar Peng. He gets supported with a remixe by Jiggler. 

Edgar Peng is a Berlin based artist and producer. He is known from his own label Tonkind, which impresses with a great and outstanding sound. Same counts for his own productions. He delivers a unmistakably groove and trippy sound, which takes you on a crazy journey. He has the perfect feeling for dropping elements and build tension. 

Now a days its hard to find music which standout, but Edgar Peng keeps his sound of analog gadgets and surprising with unexpected elements.  

Jiggler created an other peak time banger. The Berlin-bred producer and DJ, who is one half of former Bar 25 favourites Channel X, has been shaking dance floors since the spring of 2014 under this new pseudonym. Since then, Jiggler has impressed with a string of club oriented bombs for labels Heinz, Stil Vor Talent, Tonkind and Katermukke. 

The Eridu EP is the perfect combination of funky and trippy sound, which will also work as club banger. We are really happy to have this great  artists with us for this EP.

Sol Selectas is a label run by US artist Sabo, and the label matches his deep and tribal sound. The artwork is designed by his fiancé Helia Jamali, and is carefully created to visualize the individual sound of each release.

Not afraid to take risks, Sol Selectas music policy has always pushed the boundaries, and although its roster includes a number of established artists such as UNER, Acid Pauli, Blond:ish, Be Svendsen and of course Sabo himself, the label also provides a platform for new and underexposed artists of exceptional talent.

This new Sol Selectas release is one such example of Sol Selectas discovering a diamond in the rough and presents the debut solo release from Kincaid who's a young London based producer.

Kincaid has previously worked in collaboration with Sinal and together they have featured on labels such as Eloments, Nie Wieder Schlafen, Of Unsound Mind and Sense Trax, but this is his first official solo outing and it’s a fantastic debut.

Featured on the EP are three uniquely original tracks, each one taking us on an immersive journey. With each of the songs having a melodic groove rich with melody and tribal percussion that’s trademark of the Sol Selectas sound.

“TFLLFT” refers to the artist's personal experience on public transport in London where an extended journey on the Tube (London Underground) made him feel he had lost a part of his soul, but giving him time to sit and think, he found an inner happiness of long forgotten memories.

After last year’s first release, things have been a bit quiet on the record label run by The Gardens of Babylon. The coming months will prove that they haven’t been sitting still, as a string of releases is to be expected from the imprint. First up is the Russian duo Geju. 

Their EP is called ‘Prazdnost’ EP’ and it sees the release of four original tracks by Geju, plus a remix by Chaim. The artists are two of the most adored acts in the community that is The Gardens of Babylon for quite a while already, so a contribution by them to the record label feels more than natural. 

The release carries a deep, dark and almost sensual feel to it, that identifies the producers so well. Their signature downtempo electronica sound can be recognized in all the four tracks, their Russian roots being most apparent in in the title track, Prazdnost', where you can hear the recording of a street performance in Moscow. Chaim his remix for this song is orientated more towards the dancefloor, delivering a joyful twist to the whole. 

Keep your eyes and ears pealed for more releases from The Gardens of Babylon in the months to come. In times like these it’s important to let the music to the talking. Expect this coming from artists like Vander, The Soul Brothers, Parallells and Zigan Aldi. Also, not to be missed is this years edition of The Monastery, a Various Artists release that covers a very big part of the The Gardens of Babylon family.
