'Remember Yesterday' is a pensive, at times almost elegiac selection of home-listening beauties which have been carefully put together and mixed (with vinyl only) by a dab-hand selector who I've had the pleasure to know for quite some time. Ilan has become known more recently for his synth-driven 'Night City Life' compilations of forgotten and obscure gems, distributed via the Spacetalk label, but we first met on or around the dancefloor of his erstwhile Hypnotic Tango events in various London basements, which he ran alongside my close friend Olly Fas. He's quietly developed a reputation over the years as somebody that goes the extra mile to source weird and wonderful music of a generally upbeat nature, which is befitting of the weird and wonderful chap with a generally upbeat nature that Ilan undoubtedly is.

As with all of the forthcoming mixes in this series, please give it a chance and listen without prejudice. There's no tracklist this time around.

"The idea was to play some of the tunes that I enjoyed most through the summer months and to capture that feeling again as we are moving into autumn. I meant to finish the mix a few weeks ago in time for the last summer days, so let’s hope we get an Indian summer in Europe. I’ve had a string of edits come out recently on the amazing new @SmuttyEdits label as well as Duca Bianco and a 10 year-old Reggae-Disco edit is coming out on a local Berlin label in the not too distant future as well. I’ll be in Istanbul in late October / early November to play at @Arkaoda and a couple other places with Venus Exotica - looking forward to it."

The Barcelona-born @aficionado_dj, now based in Berlin, is one of the heads behind the Berlin Orbita parties. He has performed in various venues worldwide and he has found a cozy corner at Refuge Worldwide, hosting his show, "Francachela". His musical style is eclectic, spanning House, Balearic, Boogie, and Disco, or as someone wise once best described it, "Adult Dance Music". Reminiscent of a slow dance, a little touch of risqué perhaps, but most of all - fun.
