Beginning his journey on the airwaves of local radio stations, Daniel has now become an exciting prospect within the London circuit, having performed at venues such as Spiritland and booked to play under the likes of John Morales and Kirollus in early June. 

Nowadays, he is no stranger to the radio airwaves, busying himself by backpacking around his hometown armed and ready with the finest feel-good selections for his respective monthly shows on LooseFM, Voices Radio and Brixton Radio. 

Daniel’s reverence for uplifting dance music encompasses retro disco, funk and soul from all corners of the globe, persistently delving into genres such as zouk, soca, brazilian and rare disco, as well as the more hard-hitting sounds of Brazilian house and UK breakbeat. 

Expect an eclectic mix of goodies this episode, starting off with some soothing soul and grooves from across the African and South American continents, then moving all the way through to early 2000s Brazilian house and 90s breakbeat, and finally finishing off on a euphoric high with some blissful funk and soul classics.

"Tapes 'n' Tapes (An EP With Lost & Forgotten Tracks)" is a special project by Ramon Inc. that recovers unfinished songs, alternate versions, and forgotten fragments that were left out of official releases between 2021 and 2024. At approximately 22 minutes long, the EP functions as an emotional archive: a compilation of ideas that, even off-center, carry intensity, experimentation, and identity.

Musically, the EP weaves through an engaging blend of ambient pop, indie electronic, dream pop, and experimental soundtrack influences. The floating electronic textures, the use of lo-fi noises and ethereal pads, combined with understated vocals and a spacious mix, create a cinematic and introspective soundscape. There's no urgency: the EP proposes pause, memory, and contemplation.

Tracks like "Reset [Cinematic Mix]" and "test II [Reconstructed Game Soundtrack]" evoke a nostalgic aesthetic, as if they were excerpts from unfinished game or film soundtracks, with tones reminiscent of analog synthesizers and vaporous atmospheres. Meanwhile, "Saudades [Solo Cut]" and "Candle Flame [Reworked Remix]" delve into emotional delicacy with minimalist beats and melodies that whisper more than they scream. The bonus track, "Better Take My Heart," closes the EP with an air of an epilogue—emotional, melancholic, and resigned.

The EP's title reinforces its premise: "Tapes 'n' Tapes" suggests a treasure trove of lost tapes, fragments of ideas that were left behind—but which, now uncovered, reveal a surprising depth. Each track is a document: unpolished, but sincere. Not grandiose, but meaningful.

"Tapes 'n' Tapes" is, at once, archaeology and confession.
It's the sound of something that was almost lost—but that still had something important to say.

Symptoms of Love, a project by Detroit duo Ryan Spencer (Freakish Pleasures) and Ben Christensen (Sector 7G), present “Foam EP” scheduled to drop in January 2020. This is the team’s second release, a follow-up to their recent “Eye Contact” (SOBO, Montreal). “Foam EP” reflects a contrast of the high-energy late nights and laid-back afternoons in the sprawling echo-chamber of Detroit.

Recorded over the course of two years, the duo stack live instrumentation onto the vast synth and drum machine collection in Christensen’s home studio. The tracks are finished with explorations into sample-based wormholes that deliver a truly diverse EP. The sounds cruise through balearic and streetsoul inspired smoothness, machine funk dance floor jams, and bleepy percussive workouts.

All four cuts on the EP see his deft drum programming laying a foundation for a tough and diverse record. The A-side holds the percolating jack track ‘Balance’ and the bleepy cinematic synth work trip “Ururangi”.
