Souleance return with a brand new EP for First Word Records. Following the huge success of 'La Beat Tape' in early 2013, the French duo have been busy in the studio preparing a 6-tracker aimed squarely at the dancefloor. Souleance is the result of the partnership between producer Fulgeance (check his new LP 'Cubes') and DJ Soulist of legendary Paris event What The Funk. In 2008 they released their debut EP 'Le Monde' which along with follow up 'Le Plaisir' is one of First Word's all-time bestsellers. 2012 saw their debut LP 'La Belle Vie' released to widespread critical acclaim, winning them fans including Gilles Peterson, Lefto and Laurent Garnier. With an eye-catching live show now up and running (check their recent charismatic appearance on Boiler Room for evidence) Souleance are going from strength to strength.
The new EP is exactly what you'd expect from Souleance, taking in 80s influenced electro (Brotha, Broobecker & Vacances), audacious sample flips (Georgian Kiss), infectious-grooved hip hop (Mais Um) and up-tempo tropical beats (Tropicalidad). All six tracks are guaranteed club winners that only Souleance could deliver.

Symptoms of Love, a project by Detroit duo Ryan Spencer (Freakish Pleasures) and Ben Christensen (Sector 7G), present “Foam EP” scheduled to drop in January 2020. This is the team’s second release, a follow-up to their recent “Eye Contact” (SOBO, Montreal). “Foam EP” reflects a contrast of the high-energy late nights and laid-back afternoons in the sprawling echo-chamber of Detroit.

Recorded over the course of two years, the duo stack live instrumentation onto the vast synth and drum machine collection in Christensen’s home studio. The tracks are finished with explorations into sample-based wormholes that deliver a truly diverse EP. The sounds cruise through balearic and streetsoul inspired smoothness, machine funk dance floor jams, and bleepy percussive workouts.

All four cuts on the EP see his deft drum programming laying a foundation for a tough and diverse record. The A-side holds the percolating jack track ‘Balance’ and the bleepy cinematic synth work trip “Ururangi”. Flip it over and you’ll find the infectious outsider boogie jam “ Mystic Shuffle” sitting comfortably next to the hazy and dubbed out club construction Ascend (Model 101).

Our 73rd release see's the revival of the Essential Rhythms series as we welcome 3 artists to 1 release! Carefully curated to appeal to a variety of DJ's, Volume 3 has got you covered.

First up, Phaze Dee the Greece based Deep house connoisseur has remixed Dave Mayer's infamous "Bring It Back". A quality expansion from Phaze Dee here on Dave's original, which was the 80th biggest deep house record on Traxsource for 2019!

Second up we have the return of Sydney based producer Teddy Black with his bumping underground track, "Do It All Night". Gritty beats, clever vocal cuts and swirling synth melodies all combine with a pulsing bass groove that stamps this record with the warning "Only play in case of a dance floor".

Rounding out the release we have an exciting debut from Sydney newcomer Joseph Katrib. His lush record "La Belle Epoque" intertwines soulful and deep chord stabs, sexy vocal cuts and some funky horn samples that ooze summer time feels.
