It depends on where you are in evolution , I was shamed by some one slashing my Cow skin jacket with a knife before I went Vegan , when I came back to my seat at the party I actually felt grateful because someone stood in THEIR truth and sent me direct communication that in NO way could be mistaken . I had TOTAL respect for how they felt and that they took the time to help me awaken. To this day I am eternally grateful to whom ever stood up for animals . I was trying to hitch hike that way any way and they just stopped to give me a lift on my journey.

I totally agree with you , the most effective way to implement positive change IS to be communicating in which ever is your best language , be it through music, sharing food, the creative arts , talking , what ever is your strength and giving out information peacefully but I totally understand and back anyone whom also screams and shouts from the highest mountain/ roof top because THIS is THEIR  truth and I believe in not invalidating others especially if in distress <3

Good people do bad things , it does not make them bad to the core but it IS time for change

but if they kill these beings much more kindly does this not still make it killing ? if it was us in those prisons would we want FREEDOM and complete FREEDOM or a better prison until we are murdered ? there is NO such thing as compassionate killing , by it's definition it is Violent

Nobody is a perfect Vegan me included and yes be inclusive and effective although the truth does remain that some people / individuals jump on the band wagon for profit/ prestige because they view it as a trend . Ask yourself , 'Why would anyone preach or back an idea that they them selves do not implement in their daily lives' ?

YES !!! Vegans DO need to feel safe enough to express their feelings because there is not many places or other Vegans that we can express with in this way EVEN amoungst the Vegan community . Many of us are experiencing deep post traumatic stress through our awaking and knowledge of the truth

I feel so over whelmingly sad and can not stop crying because Man kind has so much potential for good and we are basically all wanting this but it is taking sooooO long , I can't bear it

Yes one of the best ways to be a great advocate is to share food . Bring everyone together because we are pack animals that generally enjoy eating together. I have organised film nights and cooked for guests and run Compassionate Culinary Cuisine evenings where people bring and share Vegan food ALL welcome, children and dogs too ( whom are often excluded through unashamed blatant discrimination )I asked everyone to bring their own plates and cutlery . less washing for the host and discourage use of paper /plastic , which is devastating for our environment , Mankind, wildlife and animals

A vegan documentary, which walks through a personal journey, THE LAST PIG raises crucial questions about equality, the value of compassion and the sanctity of life. Comis’ soul-bearing narrative carries us through his final year of farming pigs, the struggle to reinvent his life, and the ghosts that will haunt him forever.

It is Allison's hope that THE LAST PIG will help propel a shift in our society’s relationship to non-human beings and our capacity for compassion.

THE LAST PIG is a documentary feature completed in February 2017. The film is currently screening at festivals and independent theaters and will be made available for community screenings starting in July 2017. Distribution of the film to schools, universities, and libraries will be managed by Green Planet Films. 

The film will be offered for broadcast prior to DVD and VOD release. Fundraising is ongoing, and all support will help finance their extensive outreach efforts.

The Queen of Vegan Cheese, Animal Rights Activist & CEO. | Interview with Miyoko Schinner Episode 25

We must shine a light on the past to live more abundantly now. Historian Annette Gordon-Reed and painter Titus Kaphar lead us in an exploration of that as a public adventure in this conversation at the Citizen University annual conference. Gordon-Reed is the historian who introduced the world to Sally Hemings and the children she had with President Thomas Jefferson, and so realigned a primary chapter of the American story with the deeper, more complicated truth. Kaphar collapses historical timelines on canvas and created iconic images after the protests in Ferguson. Both are reckoning with history in order to repair the present.

Titus Kaphar is an artist whose work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions from the Savannah College of Art and Design and the Seattle Art Museum to the Museum of Modern Art in New York. His 2014 painting of Ferguson protesters was commissioned by “TIME” magazine. He has received numerous awards including the Artist as Activist Fellowship from the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation and the 2018 Rappaport Prize.

Annette Gordon-Reed is the Charles Warren Professor of American Legal History at Harvard Law School and a professor of history in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University. Her books include “The Hemingses of Monticello: An American Family,” for which she won the Pulitzer Prize, and “Most Blessed of the Patriarchs”: Thomas Jefferson and the Empire of the Imagination.”
