My Cat Snoop arrived on the scene back in 2015. He dropped his first releases that summer on Deep Tech Records,Yoruba Grooves & Dark Face Recordings. These slabs of techy analogue grooves immediately picked up support from many major players in the industry. The tracks performed very well with ‘Use Your Head’ reaching the top 10 on the Beatport Minimal Chart, and the track ‘Drugs’ making the top 20 at the same time.

Since then he hasn’t looked back and started working on his next slew of tracks. Needless to say he upped his game quite considerably, signing his next 3 releases to Claude Von Stroke’s Dirtybird, new school power house Underground Audio and also to Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD imprint. Not a bad place to be after only entering the affray one year previously! 

The fall of 2016 saw Snoop release on Madtech and W&O Street Trax. Then 2017 started off with a release on Philip Bader’s Out of Mind, with further releases dropping on W&O Street Trax, a debut on New York’s In Motion, an exclusive track featuring on Toolroom’s Ibiza 2017 album, and then to finish it off with a bang he debuted on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax with his ‘Repeat EP’ including a Nathan Borato Remix. This EP performed particularly well with 3 of the 4 tracks climbing high in the genre charts. Jamie loved this EP so much he then signed another EP to Hottrax, released in 2018, and he finished off that year with follow up releases on W&O Street Trax & Underground Audio.

Not one to sit still, in 2019 Snoop has already signed releases to Solardo’s Sola, and taking a giant cat like leap up onto Adam Beyer’s Truesoul. With more big signings in the pipeline, along with some new and innovative projects he is working on, this year looks set to be an explosive one for this exceptional talent.

So what’s Snoop’s story? My Cat Snoop is the alter ego of Brighton resident Gregg Ashley. No new guy on the scene by any stretch. Gregg has been DJing and producing for many years, but decided to roll out with My Cat Snoop to freshen things up. Over the years Gregg has performed with the likes of Santé, Matthias Tanzmann, Richy Ahmed, Steve Lawler, at clubs such as Circus, Lightbox, Fire, The Egg, The Arch and is now a regular headliner at the infamous ABODE parties and festivals. He has lived in Ibiza during some summer seasons playing for Sankeys & Bora Bora, and attending many of the island’s best events, sucking in the sounds, and getting ready to pounce as My Cat Snoop when the time is right. Plastik Philosophy is a quirky, eccentric and sexy new label that officially launched at Pacha, London on 29 October. The label essentially manages DJs from the around the world with an emphasis on world dance music. There are regular events bearing Plastik Philosophy's name, predominantly in the UK, however, we aim to be a global brand.  We are presently releasing a string of tracks from producers Rick Charles, Gregg Ashley, Chris Stock, Toby Jones, Richie D, Jon Allegro and Nigel Bazeley as well as working with top producers Ant Brooks, Sonny Wharton, Ridney, DJ Sneak and Houseplayerz. We aim to produce several Plastik Philosophy compilation mixes per year and the nights we host are always a quality experience. 
We currently have nine DJ’s signed to our label, Chris Stock from South Africa, Masashi Osaku from Japan, Rick Charles from the Netherlands, as well as Toby Jones, Gregg Ashley, Richie D, Dale Kerrigan, Jon Allegro and Nigel Bazeley from the UK. All of whom are exceptionally talented who bring futuristic and genius sounds to the mix.

Right place, right time. It's an old cliché, but it's one that's been the definition of Dennis Ferrer's musical career. Just as the dance music world was heading into the world of afro-centric house, Ferrer was there. And then, when it began to embrace the mix of tech and soul, Ferrer was there again, leading the way with his impeccable productions. As Ferrer goes, it seems, so does electronic music. And, as someone who's never content to do the same thing twice, it's clear that he'll be staying on top for years to come.

Ferrer burst back into the consciousness of most dance music heads with the release of "Sandcastles," (Ibadan) his collaboration with Jerome Sydenham in 2003. But, to his credit, Ferrer didn't simply repeat the formula afterwards. He has continued to push a variety of genres all at once. It's clear that Ferrer isn't content to rest on his laurels: he's too busy dreaming up new ways to shock and delight audiences.

In the mid-90’s, Ferrer was crafting techno records as Morph and then had success in the Afro and gospel house scenes with releases via his Sfere label, an imprint he began alongside Kerri Chandler. But it's this past work that gives his new productions such resonance: unlike many of this house peers, Ferrer's techno experience has given him an edge that you can hear in his recent work.

"Son of Raw," (Ibadan) "Church Lady," (Defected) "Underground Is My Home," (King Street Sounds), "Touched the Sky" (King Street Sounds), “Transitions” (King Street Sounds), “P 2 Da J” (Defected),  “Sinfonia Della Notte” (Strictly Rhythm), “Hey Hey” (Objektivity), “Red Room” (Objektivity), “Underground” Nick Curly – Dennis Ferrer Remix (Defected), to name a few, have all been huge dance floor anthems and all show a different side of the Ferrer personality as well as his impressive range as producer and remixer.

Ferrer has brought his ‘anything goes’ approach to his label, Objektivity.  Celebrating its 8th anniversary in 2014, the imprint has thus far focused itself on vocals, featuring often unlikely turns from indie heroes like Ane Brun and Télépopmusik. Low slung and deep, Objektivity is a cutting-edge label in touch with its time, putting a uniquely American spin on the deep house revival that is currently making waves in Europe. Objektivity is a living, breathing thing - one that's set to drop bombs on the dance floor for years to come.

While Ferrer closes out 2013 with “Mind Ur Step” (Defected), “Mind Ur Dub” (Objektivity) and a remix of Coyu - “Salvation” (Noir Music), the best is yet to come. With a deep knowledge of the past and a constant push for the future, Ferrer remains one of the true greats of house music - a leader and innovator whose enjoying the buzz around him but keeping on pushing the limits.
