Tunnel Visions is the conception of young, local artists, out to prove themselves in Munich’s growing musical subculture. This festival brings artists together with listeners in search of distinct moods in music. The sound of Tunnel Visions mixes electronic and acoustic instrumentalists & vocalists for a vivid evening of contemporary music. The event even takes place in a tunnel-like venue, Milla Club, a central hub of the city’s music scene.

Emerging/unsigned Australian synth-noir duo We Are The Brave has been attracting impressive international blog attention lately, following the release of their recent single/video, Sparrow, from debut EP Noctua. They now release follow up single, Your Ghost, with a video (shot by James Chappell) to follow imminently.

Featuring warm, '80s/’90s flavoured synths, moody guitar licks, and Jess Chalker's  emotive vocal at the fore, Your Ghost was written/produced/recorded/mixed by We Are The Brave from their respective studios. It also features Grammy-winner William Bowden (Gotye's Making Mirrors) on mastering duties. 

Local blogs and outlets across the pond have jumped on board to praise Your Ghost, calling it ‘addictive’, ‘accomplished’ and ‘sophisticated’. At the same time, critics have heralded We Are The Brave as an exciting new act to emerge from Australia’s fertile indie music scene.
 
Your Ghost precedes We Are The Brave’s second EP, due later in the year, as well as a remix package, out soon in collaboration with NYC's Kid Recordings.

Channel Tres

Channel Tres grew up in the Compton neighborhood of Los Angeles. His voice is effortlessly deep, as if Barry White didn't realize he was Barry White. "Controller", Channel's debut single on Godmode (Yaeji, Shamir), took classic Detroit house and reimagined it with the surly attitude of West Coast rap. Pitchfork, NPR, Gorilla vs. Bear, BBC Radio 1, Spotify, Apple, and KCRW were early champions, along with Australia's esteemed Triple J radio, who put "Controller" in full rotation.

In advance of his self-titled debut EP (out July 27 on Godmode), Channel blesses us with "Jet Black", another taste of his unorthodox union of four-on-the-floor and Compton. The song is an oozy ode to the blackest of black, over a ferocious modular synth instrumental that takes cues from industrial and early electro. "I never reply when you hit me/ I'm off the grid you can't get me" – it's hard not to feel invincible when this one plays. The video, directed by cult filmmaker Anthony Sylvester, captures Compton at its most contorted, where barbershops double as churches, where liquor stores become after-hours raves.

Falls - YSKA x Guy Burns

These two songs explore the gap between electronic synthesis and organic percussion. Using a harp, a 1980s Russian analog synthesizer, and hand-drums recorded in the subway systems of New York, bad tuner hoped to combine human nature (imperfection) and electronic music programming (repetition). The double speaks to bad tuner's childhood, with themes of escape and alienation.
