For our 35th Podcast, we have a very special guest, all the way from Georgia, we have one of the creative minds behind of one of the most important parties in Berlin, STAUB! As a part of the production duo I/Y, he has been releasing music under the synonymous co-founded label. But most of all, Irakli’s craft behind the decks has been weighed upon by the likeliest of Berlin’s underground venues, namely Tresor, Berghain and Griessmuehle, with his vision of electronic music taken further afield in Europe, and the Americas. In 2017 he founded the Intergalactic Research Institute for Sound with artists like Stanislav Tolkachev, Natalie Beridze, Rezo Glonti and many others. Strap back and turn up the volume for a real musical ride.

THC Podcast Series 035 - IRAKLI

FAQ and DVTN-resident DJ Hirax have been friends since the late 90s. Beside their passion for DIY-hardcore shows, punk/political magazines and underground club music, their friendship is marked by a deep solidarity against all social pressures in late-capitalism, especially the ones exercted through family life and it’s human abysses. Growing up in completely different economic backgrounds (nameley the upper and lower class), they always strived to reject any corporative norms of segregation and to never disrespect each other based on pointless differences in incomes. 
To make it short: They love life as much as they hate the false environment of a world characterized by the global rule of exploitation of human labour and resources. If today’s Techno movement fights to be a part of the German cultural mainstream, the only right response can be: Euer Palast ist gebaut aus Hundescheiße! Both share the hope that socialism as a cooperation of free associated individuals is still an answer. 

As part of Leipzig’s Young Shields Crew, FAQ and his bunch of music nerds are running parties with what you could call very idiosyncratic booking policies: Mostly inviting friends or producers with a focus on club sounds miles away from modern expectations of Techno music. This is what we like about their crew: They don’t give a fuck about trends. 

Located somewhere between true Electro, Wave and EBM, FAQ’s style is marked by of dark soundscapes, rough, programmed drum machines filled with an enraged atmosphere. Or, in his own words: "I really wanted to do a one take vinyl mix with all its implications. Something devastating and
harsh. This is the outcome."

We are happy to present to you for the 32nd Catharsis Cast Jessica Kert.
Jessica Kert spent her youth in rehearsal rooms of her hometown making music, independent of everything else, a world of her own where she can freely shape, evolve, and rediscover herself. By a fortunate coincidence 8 years ago she found herself as an employee in SchneidersLaden - a synthesizer shop based in Berlin, that was her first dive into the world of electronic music and she became instantly fascinated by modular synthesizers. The experiences she gained playing, inspired her to start her own solo project - a very personal journey of musical discovery - immediate but not intrusive, raw and harsh but gentle, pugnacious and effortless at the same time.
This is presented in the podcast she made for us.
