What do you do when you’ve just released an amazing album and your last EP on Heist was one of the label’s best selling records in recent years? This is the ‘question’ Crackazat had to answer when writing his new EP for Heist.  His solution was to deliver something even more amazing!  When Crackazat released his ‘Alfa’ EP early 2021, we knew it was going to be a great record. It had everything we’ve come to expect and love from him; a great balance between creative musicality and downright beef for the club. Fast forward a year and a half and here we are, super happy to release his new ‘Demucha EP’.

‘Demucha’ starts with the jazzy energy of a double bass, brushed percussion, and vocal chops. You can feel the speed working through every part of the song, which is even more evident when the main key comes in.  A typical Crackazat-esque finger-twirling loop brings the track to its top speed where horn stabs add to the overall excitement. ‘Sarge’ takes a more mellow approach, Crackazat navigates the idea of timelessness with dreamy keys, strings and a dubby bass. A mid track crackly arpeggio and faraway voices add to the contemplative vibe to great effect.  ‘We know’ stays away from Crackazat’s renowned skippy beats and instead, makes way for a driving staccato stomp. Rough key stabs along with the talented multi-instrumentalist’s own faraway vocals make for a mesmerizing cut that takes you on a sonic journey that works as well on the dancefloor as in any other space.

Dan Shake, Kaidi Tatham, Jamie 3:26 on Toy Tonics! Yes. Toy Tonics lead artist Cody Currie released his debut album on the Berlin label last year and now here come the remixes! Pure dancefloor joy is guaranteed with this release. The names speak for themselves. And they really made effective DJ weapons out of Cody's very organic sounding, warm, soul-driven jazzy house songs. 

Cody by now doesn't need a big introduction anymore. He is one of the „hot“ names from London’s new house scene (even if he lives in Berlin) and being the only one who has made a collabo with Eliza Rose created a certain buzz not just in UK. (they recorded the tracks Danger, Moves, Night Sky released on Cody's debut album Lucas).

Since the album release Cody is playing worldwide solo shows but also along with DJs such as Honey Dijon, Parcels or Myd from Ed Banger.

This EP will make his album music more accessible for dancefloors. Amazing remixes...

Legendary jazz and broken beat artist Kaidi Tatham - called ‘the UK’s Herbie Hancock’ by BBC Radio 1’s Benji B - kicks off this tasty package of remixes of Cody Currie’s latest album ‘Lucas’. 
With Dan Shake, Jamie 3:26, Sam Ruffillo and Kapote, some of the hottest names of the scene join Kaidi to rework Cody’s organic, warm sound into dance floor weapons! 
Since the album release Cody is playing worldwide solo shows but also along with DJs such as Honey Dijon, Parcels or Myd from Ed Banger.

It's been a minute since we last cast a spotlight on the wonderful happenings of Far Out Recordings. As London's no.1 music hub of all things South American, we first had the honour of broadcasting a Far Out special with Brazilian legends Azymuth directly from the Brownswood Basement. We then sat down with the label's head honcho Joe Davis for a Latin special of our Collections series, in celebration of Far Out's twenty years of music dissemination par excellence.

Our attention now turns to the Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra, Far Out's in-house Brazilian disco group. With releases trickling out on the imprint since 2011, the Orchestra has been bringing a consistent stream of original modern disco sounds. As well as this, their remix roster boasts some considerably strong names in the dance music game – of which Dego, John Morales, Andrés and Ben Hauke are included. FOMDO12 is the latest in this series, with Dego's fresh 2000Black interpretation of "Where Do We Go from Here?" ranking as our pick of the bunch. A rich groove and deeply comforting swing rolls throughout the track, ringing true to the broken beat pioneer's signature sound – classing it as a stellar addition to the Monster Disco Orchestra's all-star remix package.

Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra "Where Do We Go From Here? (Dego's 2000Black Remix)" - BR Debuts

London-based producer Nebraska delivers his ‘Drill Deep’ EP with three sample based productions, including the title track that features a disco motif primed for the dancefloor.

Following releases on Rush Hour, Heist, Delusions of Grandeur and Mister Saturday Night​, Nebraska now turns his attention to the Brooklyn based imprint Razor-N-Tape’s sub-label, Razor-N-Tape Reserve. He's been known for a plethora of musical styles, but ‘Drill Deep’ showcases the more upbeat side to his musical persona while also highlighting his skill using eclectic samples.

For producing the material, Nebraska dug deep into his sample library: “Though not all made in the same period of time, these three tracks all feature drums sampled and chopped from vinyl copies of reggae records paired with samples from 70s soul productions – I prefer things to sound a little crackly and rough, that basement-y, sound system type of vibe.”

Nebraska’s ‘Drill Deep’ EP will be released March 29 on "easter yellow" 12" vinyl.
