The Chikara Project is back once again with another hot release. This time from the legendary duo Levrige. As fans of both Levrige and Captivate we decided to pick the Captivate remix up for a premiere. Captivate brings in a halftime remix that's ready to rock dancefloors and give you a proper stank face.

From the choppy swagger of the title track, the pulsing sub drops and perfectly distorted 808’s of “Snapback”, and the off-kilter beat skips of “Think You Are”, the EP marks another solid gem from the Vancouver Island-based pair in the Chikara back catalogue. We even recruited the remixing skills of wonderboy @captivatebeats to flip the title track into an angry, halftime monster that has been doing the rounds in clubs from here to the States. Can we even call it dubstep any more? Both the consistently awesome Innamind label and maverick Turkish producer Emir Ongun aka Gantz have made their mark though 140bpm half-steppers with lung-crushing subs as standard – but both have constantly chipped away at the conventions of the sound, never ever getting locked into formulae. Now with the launch of Innamind's (even more) experimental offshoot, Blacklist, we're fully through the looking glass. Just one listen to Gantz's elastic tempos, sampladelic mischief and slip-sliding sound palette on this track tells you he's no longer tethered to anything but his own warped imagination. We're going to be watching Blacklist with anticipation (and a little trepidation!)

Coventry’s second son of Drum & Bass returns to UVB-76 Music for his first release on the label since 2017’s ‘Pathos’ EP. Two years on, and four tracks strong, ‘The Last Men’ EP delves into the darker caverns of modern jungle, tethering howling pad works to a sturdy hull of abrasive percussive rhythms.

Coarse high end peaks are trussed against bottom end vibrations which are fixated to the ground as three tracks are firmly rooted in the dance while a fourth track is the fallout at trip hop tempo.
