This show is all about one of thee original ambassadors of the Detroit house sound and bona fide Detroit Legend…Mike "Agent X" Clark!

Mike began his lifelong musical journey growing up on Detroit's west side surrounded by jazz, funk and disco. 
In the decades since, he's made classic tracks, DJ'd, run a label (Strictly Beatdown)and coined the term "beatdown." 

Beatdown, in its essence, is the idea that Detroit dance music is a forward-thinking mesh of sounds including, but not limited to, jazz, Motown, funk, gospel and hip-hop. 

With a resume that includes working with labels such as Planet E, Underground Resistance and Third Ear, Clark has been, and remains, dedicated to putting out quality tracks and sharing his love of music in Detroit and beyond.

The first hour is an Agent X retrospective then we have a very very special 3hr mix from the man himself.

It is still only a couple of years since Moire first emerged, but already he operates in his own distinctive sound world. It is a place his broken house and techno is murky and disorientating, ambiguous and otherworldly. So far it has come on cult labels like Spectral Sound, Ninja Tune and Actress’ Work Discs in the form of some essential EPs and an LP, and now he steps up to our mix series ahead of the arrival of his second full length on Ghostly International. 

Over the course of an hour the Londoner lays down some loose and hazy house that gets more and more rugged as the grooves unfold. It’s lo-fi but stirringly emotive stuff that ends in a place of refracted melodies and heavenly vocals that really lift you out of the real world.

Let’s call it a big warm-up. This week continues with this mix from Budino who will perform on the CocK Tail d'Amore Stage. CockTail d’Amore started in september 2009 rightfully earning its place as one of Berlin’s top alternative parties. The night happens on the first weekend of every month and is hosted by Discodromo, whose prime motivation is their passion for music, a passion they’re sharing with open-minded friends in a carefree atmosphere.
