Paris based producer & DJ Petit Piment supplies a rip-roaring journey through the diverse world of Baile Funk, reconnecting with her lusophone influences from Angola and Brazil. Having spent her teenage years in Luanda, where she started collecting her first 'Funk das antigas' CD Compilations, with classics from Furacão 2000, Bonde do Tigrão, MC Carol, Tati Quebra Barraco… she’s in a perfect position to showcase it’s myriad styles, from Funk Carioca, Funk Paulista, 150 BPM Funk, all laced with her own heavyweight remixes and productions. 

For those who would like to dig deeper, she recommends reading 'O Mundo Funk Carioca' by Hermano Vianna for an in depth history of the genre, and the first Bailes in the Rio suburbs of the 80's. For visual stimulation, she points towards the series ‘Sintonia' on Netflix, directed by Kondzilla and featuring MC JottaPê and an insight into the daily life of young people living in the peripheries of São Paulo.
