The Paper Family has members worldwide, including Mexico City, so we thought we'd ask them to collaborate. They said yes, so the chaps have remixed each other's tracks and the results are as good as you would expect from two veterans of the scene.

First up, La Guardia De La Luz puts his foot four to the floor for a throbbing, trance take on nu-disco, complete with rave chords for the modern age on the amazingly titled 'I First Learned about Shelley's through a Magazine'.

Picotropico's 'Stoke On-Trent is not in Mexico City Remix' doubles down on the best title of the year, stripping the groove back as far as it will go. It slowly builds to a bubbling acid arp and those hands-in-the-air chords. Shelly's comes to Mexico!

Pico's original, Strangers, drops the BPMS for an acid-driven chugger. Hypnotic and deep, it's a wonky slice of psychedelic house that doesn't fit into any category but simultaneously fits into them all.  

The remix tag team continues as La Guardia De la Luz gives things more of a disco swing but keeps it low and slow, funky and freaky.

We love it when a plan comes together.

Gilles Peterson-endorsed Bristolian, Typesun, makes his next chess move following on from a queue of primo productions over the last few years. For his latest release, "Dirt Crew" and "Quintessentials" favorite Ponty Mython has linked up with Washington, DC-based imprint "Better Listen" for a five track package of globally inspired groovers. The "House for Sale EP" maintains the sample-based production aesthetic of Better Listen’s debut record, and draws heavily from rare African funk and disco sources. The Vilnius-based producer’s trademark eclecticism is injected throughout the record, with the A-side leaning more towards wonky, left-field house cuts and the flip hosting more disco-like arrangements. Brooklyn based label, Razor-N-Tape, has been pumping out delicious selections of contemporary house music since 2012. They’re back to tease our end of summertime sadness with one last block party banger. However, this time around they have relied on beats from across the pond – London-based producer Alistair Gibbs, better known as Nebraska, to be exact. Like many of our favorite house artists, Nebraska comes from the golden age of sample-based hip hop, making him well-suited for utilizing soulful excerpts in developing his funk-filled discography. The latest addition in his long list of tracks that stretch back to the early 90s is an original titled Usin’ Me, which features remixes from the likes of Lovebirds, The Revenge, and someone who we are lucky to feature below.

Harlem native, DJ Nature hops on a remix of Nebraska’s “Usin’ Me” to remind us that summer’s never over. Traveling through a smoldering baseline, DJ Nature goes deep into the jungle. His slowed down percussion-rich rework vibrates. Chimes, shimmering snares, and rattling hats gleam through the heavy atmosphere of the track. Shakers become rattling snakes and the borrowed squelches start to sound like bird calls over this airy bongo groove. Whether you're in the forest or on your walk to the train, DJ Nature is sure to ease you gently into the approaching chill.
