1. Hey Bjoern hier könnte jetzt deine Biografie oder auch ein cool formulierter Pressetext von dir stehen, steht aber nicht ;) Wie würdest du einen dieser beiden Punkte in nur einem zusammenhängenden Satz formulieren? 

... I am not so selfish because once you enter my house it then becomes OUR house and OUR house music!

2. Wann hattest du eigentlich dein erstes Mal? Ähm besser gesagt in welcher Situation hast du das erste Mal bewusst an einem Mischpult gestanden?

Mit 14 Jahren. 1994.

3. Wo hat für dich Musik ihre Grenzen? 

Ernsthaft? 

4. Wie würdest du deine Musik charaktarisieren? 

Emotional

5. Was denkst du, wie findet die Musikindustrie Talente? 

Mit Trüffelschweinen. Scherz. Ich denke, dass es nicht mehr die A&Rs der Labels sein werden, auf die die Hörer am Ende "hören", sondern die A&Rs auf die Hörer. Quallität setzt sich, über diverse Portale im Netz, leicht bei den Leuten durch. Da müssen die A&Rs schon Charakter zeigen bei den Künstlern. Vielleicht bin ich auch ein Träumer.

6. Welche Rolle spielt Performance-Musik heute? Bzw. welche Rolle spielt sie für dich? 

Musik ist die definition von Gefühl. Nichts geht über Live Musik oder Live performances. Jedes Gefühl geht immer mit einer körperlichen Reaktion einher. Je intensiver die Gefühlsregung ist, umso deutlicher reagieren wir. Simple as that.

7. Was sind deine 3 häufigsten Gedanken beim spielen bzw. wenn du gerade auflegst? 

Ich schalte wirklich ab. 

8. Thema DJs und Ihre gewissen Markenzeichen ... welches ist dein Markenzeichen?

10. Viele Wege führen ja bekanntlich nach Rom, welchen Weg wirst du weiterhin für deine Zukunft einschlagen?

Ich arbeite mit vielen Musikern zusammen in meinem eigenen Studio als Ton Ingenieur. Zusammen mit Tim Melchisedech (Gorgot) werde ich in den nächsten Jahren auch in ein großes eigenes Studio expandieren.

Frits Wentink has repeatedly showcased his desire to go against the grain through the left-field electronic music explored in his full-length Rarely Pure, Never Simple album and an almighty eleven EPs. Frits now returns to Detroit Swindle's Heist Recordings – after a two-year hiatus from the label as well as last year's launch of his own imprint, Bobby Donny – with his twelfth single and Heist's fourteenth catalogue number, Rising Sun, Falling Coconut.

On this new venture, Frits brings four totally original and moreish takes on electronic music as we know it. The title track lies in penultimate place on the release takes top place for us. Pitch-bent laziness and purple tinged synth countermelodies sets the laid back tone, with the skippety hi-hat occasionally making timely appearances every so often to keep the loose-natured track chugging along nicely. Another signature, dusty groove from the name that's also behind techno outpost, Will & Ink. As the label put it themselves – the release is basically a case of "classic Heist, classic Frits."

Keep an eye out for Rising Sun, Falling Coconut dropping on vinyl and digitally on 25th January, as well as news of Fritz' project with some legendary and likeminded producers in the pipeline. All coming soon.

Excited by the unusual project Session Victim, Frits Wentink, Greymatter & Mr. Fries have delivered four original tracks with the format in mind. Hip Hop, Beat Down, Low Slung & Upfront House all contained across two records.

To be honest, it's criminal that New Jersey native, Flamingosis, hasn't made a Boiler Room appearance yet. The now Brooklyn-based producer has been on our radar for a while, most notably via Sean Keating's regular office stereo plays — this year's future funkified 'Bright Moments' and the hazy brilliance of 'Pleasure Palette' from 2015 especially.

Both of those releases nonchalantly tread the tightrope between hip hop and disco/funk; often smooth and late summer afternoon-themed with the analogue punch of boom bap.

As he's noted in his description, this 50min blend comes after a similalry warm experience in more ways than one. Upfront 089 is blessed with incredible music that is custom-made for afternoon and late evenings spent horizontal. Gritty funk/rap knockers are shock absorbed by downtempo (sometimes saxophone-laced) jams from Flamingosis and his clearly talented group of friends.
