And I Will Rise is a new EP by Columbus, OH composer and frontman of The Receiver, Casey J. Cooper.  Since graduating with a Music Composition degree from Ohio State University in 2004, Casey has been an active songwriter, composer, and performer throughout the US.  The music on And I Will Rise presents Casey's range of compositional skill and taste by combining simple melody with dark, padded textures.  Slow, patient, and brooding progressions provide a platform for many pleasant piano and synthesizer motifs.  The music is very orchestral in its nature.  But rather than employing traditional chamber instruments, Casey presents his ideas here with classic analog synth pads and leads in themes that return at various points throughout.  It's all very cinematic for the listener.  Wrapping up in just under 22 minutes, And I Will Rise provides a rewarding amount of light and dark, peak and valley.  Just listen, and follow where it leads.
