We're a new little band residing from Sydney, Australia, gigging around town, playing our particularly Pleasant and fancy music.

Welcome to my soundcloud page. Containing many hours of listening over a divers range of dance electronica.
I don't want to crap on to much here I as I loath long winded Bio's so I will try to bare my soul and but keep it personal and simple.
I am  Byron Bay based dj with 18 years experience behind the decks.
I started my Dj experience at the youth full age of 46 years.
Maybe it was a natural progression  after a lifetime of musical passion and a huge vinyl collection. I played guitar but my fingers were clumsy so when I discovered parties I sold my beautiful Maton guitar to buy my first set of decks
I was lucky to have a vibrant underground scene to start up in. I could grab my sound  and go and set up in the bush and people would appear otherwise I would have been confined to my bedroom. 
I mean who would give a 46 year old dj, just starting out who couldn't beat match, work ?
Luckily I survived on the quality of my tunes while I learn't to beat match with the best.
So off I went playing psy trance on vinyl in the bush.
Over those 17 years driven by nothing but pure passion things have grown.
These day's there's not to many dancer's  in the region who have not crossed my path.
These day's I have a solid reputation for rocking a dance floor, they tell me, every single time. 
I am known for marathon set's doing parties from start to finish starting out deep house funky house progressive, minimal,  Techho , then to psy trance (but not anymore, no more psy trance) and winding it back down again.
I also can play any party anytime with my diverse versatility where  my set's are crafted strictly to the vibe of each respective party.. Yes I am a old school dj.
I now play at  most of the regions premier events festival's  and night clubs (some very big) but won't go into a rave naming them.
I have done plenty of
 studio work with my production partner Sam Crawford which saw us signed to italian label and win a North Coast entreatment industry award  music award but all that is now on hold and I am just happy to continue to  dj' on a grass roots level. I now allocate any studio time to being  strictly a dj and I feel  that makes me a better dj  than many producers who call themselves dj's.
At 63 years of age I am having a ball in my creative bubble that is blessed with countless glowing soul's.
So I hope you enjoy my crazy page and I enjoy sharing my passion with those who have the time to listen.

The Sexuals are named after the fertile red fire ant. An ant that flies into the sky mates and then dies as the female falls from the clouds and starts her new nest. This act of sexual death is called nuptial flight and that was the name of the 2006 project that saw The Sexuals and these songs come to life.

The Sexuals are a Sydney based bedroom recording act. The songs here on this once abandoned page were recorded in 2006 and represent the love of two best Friends, Kelly Jean & Michael John AKA The Sexuals.

We wanted to revisit the music that once set our hearts on fire, just encase someone somewhere out there enjoys the sounds we created together.

Michael John Ropkins is a multi-instrumentalist who plays almost all parts in each of the The Sexuals recordings. 

Tim Irons is an all round artist whom has written a lot with Michael over the years and play a part in many of The Sexuals tracks.

Kelly Jean is the singer and lyricist. She is a trained actor and is also known in the Sydney Music scene for fronting Sydney all girl band, bandintexas. This however is a distinctively different sound.

Road Train - Our track Road Train appeared on a French compilation CD in 2011, A French magazine review likened us to a cross between Lydia Lunch and PJ Harvey. We were pretty happy with that.

Colours - Colours was Kellys first attempt at Playing guitar, corrected by Michael later to become and Angry break up song that it is today. We decided to keep it simple.

Sonrise, although considered a demo is a beautiful piece of music and a testiment to a long lost friend taken all too soon in a car accident in the same year this song was written. We always planned to go back and fix this song but now so much time has passed I think its time to share it as it is.

Anyway take a moment to listen. There are stories here. Monologue middle 8s (some quite confronting), beautiful compositions and stories to be told. We hope you enjoy. We certainly still enjoy these tracks.

Kelly Jean and Michael John now live in separate cities but are still musical soul mates and the greatest of friends.
