The silky soulful sounds of BlackNote roll thick and deep like the mists of nostalgia on dark streets of rhythm. Calling on sounds from his youth and weaving them into a modern textile. BlackNote bends time and era with layers of jazz, soul, hip hop and the crisp sounds of halftime, into a dance floor amnesia of sound.

Asheville’s Newcomer Jesse Edwards, aka BlackNote, has been honing his skills in the music industry for the past year. Originally a business major, BlackNote's new style blends blends uk dubstep and downtempo with rap influences from his childhood to create a soulful bass dance experience for all music goers. His mixing technique along with his unique song selection skills combine to bring together an eccentric dance experience.

BlackNote’s evolution into the music scene has allowed him to introduce another element to this community and this has allowed him to extend his range of talents even further. His use of songs from the underground music community allows BlackNote to challenge the boundaries of other musicians. Utilizing this method, BlackNote is able to tell stories which explore the depths of movement and composition within the human body.
