The Lake Poets is Martin Longstaff, a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Sunderland. 

Inspired by artists such as Feist, Warren Zevon, Carole King, Kings Of Convenience, John Martyn, Jackson Browne, Tom Waits, and Neil Young, Martin’s output as The Lake Poets is as haunting as it is beautiful. 

Stunning audiences in support of Willy Mason, Ben Howard, Daughter and Jake Bugg, Martin has also played sold-out shows at prestigious venues such as Union Chapel, Roundhouse and The Sage Gateshead, as well as major festivals such as Glastonbury and T in the Park. Martin's music has seen steady daytime airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, XFM and BBC 6 Music.

I’ve been into the music scene and dj'ing for almost 25 years now and have a great love of all things House & Disco and everything in between!

Collecting vinyl started as a hobby at a very young age and over the years developed into a real passion.  The opportunity to share this passion for the first time came in the early 2000's at a local club called Jaks Bar which I played regularly.

Experiencing many events around the world, such as Soul Heaven, Hard Times, Southport Weekender, SunceBeat, The Manor Born and early Shindig events amongst other local gigs. 
Inspired by some of the best DJ’s such as Tony Humphries, Frankie Knuckles, Masters At Work, Kerri Chandler and Spen & Karizma this helped build a solid foundation of musical knowledge.

Throughout my career I have played at various bars, clubs, festivals, boat parties and exhibitions around the North East and the UK and also played a couple of times overseas in Berlin.

Within this time I’ve had the honour to play alongside some of my favourite artists and producers such as Joey Negro, Dimitri from Paris, Dj Spen, Kenny Carpenter, CJ Mackintosh, John Morales, Danny Rampling and Brandon Block as well as live artists such as Tortured Soul, Angie Brown, Alison Limerick and Lovely Laura.

Bunkeruk is an independent record label based in the city of Sunderland and only works with fresh talent from within the local area. Over the years the label has grown organically, with over 15 releases and has worked with bands such as The Golden Virgins, The Pits, Seven Heroes, The Spheres, SeventyThree, Lee McMahon among others. The Golden Virgins received much critical acclaim from NME and Rolling Stone magazine with NME voting their album ‘Songs of Praise’ #54 in the top 100 albums of the last decade. Bunkeruk’s double album release ‘Live at the Voodoo Room’ also scored 8.5 out of 10 in NME. Bunkeruk continues to grow within the City and is currently working on new compilations and promoting the vast back catalogue.
