Ethereal Skies are a Dublin based party and platform dedicated to avant-garde electronic music founded by Mark Davis aka darkmavis and Sean Murray debuting our first label release with Aerga Vol 01.

Aerga, aka "the air or the ether" (as Gaeilge) comes in the form of a jam packed VA compilation featuring twenty one up and coming and also established artists from the emerald isle and afar presenting avant-garde and genre bending club music which knows no bounds.

A project planned and developed to traverse the soundscape of alternative club sounds through local Irish artists and friends, the vision of what our Ethereal Skies platform seeks to present to the world musically comes to life. Aerga is a sonic journey that defies genre boundaries, contrasts the new skool with the oldskool and presents the dysfunctional possibilities of electronic music.

Aerga is a spectrum of sounds from ambient dreamscapes, to avant-trance, to breakcore, to experimental pop, to donk, to gabber, to neo-grime, to prog, hard groove and more.

Usual set up this month, me for the first hour skirting across all things bass and UK techno, little bit of ambient/atmospheric stuff too. Had a lot of fun with this one, covering quite a lot of ground in terms of what was on my USB and playing tunes at all the wrong tempos. Sorry Dual Monitor for playing Level Up about a third as fast as you're meant to.

And then taking over for the second hour, delighted to be able to share with you an hour long mix from Berlin based, 4 person collective: Poems. Formed in 2022, they’ve recently picked up a head of steam curating their first party at Berlin’s OHM night club with Phil in the maze and Cassius Select on the billing. I was first introduced to poems via Derive – an incredible DJ in her own right, someone who can (and does!) literally play anything, all with relative ease. As a collective they're really challenging the norms of Berlin, flirting with weird UK Bass, techno and breaks all on the more experimental side of the spectrum.

Made up of German quartet derive … genus Aix … pesadj ... and dypere, they’ve come together to create a beautifully intense wormhole of a mix.

UBICA is known as a versatile DJ to the point of ridiculousness - her sets range from deconstructed bangers to baile funk you've never heard of to Serbian pop hits that will get you banned even in Serbia. In his sets as well as with his AFERE club collective, odrugud is moving through spaces of noise and disturbance, trying to reach a point where it actually seems fun. Outside of their B2B escapade, two of them are working on their first doom folk release.
