(Best experienced through earphones) a Stolen Glow are an outfit from Co. Wexford, Ireland. The group consists of James Murphy - 'Byrdz' [pronounced 'Birds'] (E.S.S. & One For Sorrow), and Alan Davis (E.S.S.) As a studio band the pair worked on a Stolen Glow for over ten years, with James, carefully crafting a blend of home-made rock music, and Alan, carefully focusing on some music, but then cutting his teeth on video animation. Two E.P.'s emerged 2016's 'Just Far Enough Away' and 2019's 'Rough Mixes'. The outfit's  album 'Ten Track Recorder' saw the light of day in 2020, and then the mainly (drop D based guitar tuned) 12 track album '11 Items' was released in the year 2022. Bassguitarplayer of DEAR WOLF from march 2022 to december 2024

....since I entered the basement of a doctor's office in Kempen in spring 1991 with my freshly purchased red semi-acoustic electric guitar (Aria Pro II), I couldn't stop making my own noise in musical form.
A mixture of 60's garage punk, noise pop, alternative noise and indie guitar stuff and ska influence my songwriting to this day.

Seitdem ich im Frühjahr 1991 mit meiner frisch-gekauften roten Halbakustik-E-Gitarre (Aria Pro II) den Kellerraum einer kempener Arztpraxis betrat konnte ich nicht mehr aufhören eigenen Krach in musikalischer Form herzustellen. 
Eine Mixtur aus 60´s-Garagepunk, Noisepop, Alternativkrach und Indiegitarrengegniedel und Ska beeinflussen mein Songwriting bis heute.

VANCRYNES is the musical alter-ego of Angelo Saridis, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer from South Gippsland, Australia. His music spans the genre spectrum with roots in early punk and post punk and a solid grounding in 90s alternative rock, his music fuses these influences.
" I sometimes imagine Paul Dempsey and Tim Rogers had a love child with Black Francis and Kim Gordon as the godparents and Johny Marr as the favourite uncle...somewhere in that mix is where VANCRYNES lives"

Exploring themes that are predominantly a shared introspective reflection, there is a happy sad dynamic and a nostalgic sensibility to all the songs.  'I'm trying to share what's anxiety provoking for adults...and show that none of us really have our shit together...but at times there's something beautiful about admitting our failings and insecurities'.

VANCRYNES is guitar driven, sweat soaked and authentic music that comes from the heart.

VANCRYNES is committed to capturing the immediacy of the songwriting process and moves quickly to capture songs as the moments of creation are fleeting 'I just want to get a general sense of the song recorded and move on to the next one.  If the songwriting is strong enough, then I hope it will carry through the more casual production approach.  My production is very loose'.  

Keeping it fresh and committed to the creative practice of songwriting, VANCRYNES sticks to a blistering regime of writing, producing and releasing with more than 100 songs completed in 2022 and that frenetic pace continues today.  'To quote the famous philosopher Lloyd Christmas...I can't stop once I've started....it stings'
