Clara Sika is a researcher by profession and a poet by the unfortunate power of procrastination. Her foray into poetry began not out of passion, but from a hasty promise to her roommate, Walter. Fueled by guilt rather than inspiration, her poetry practice has been blossoming ever since. Clara’s work is a tangled web of irony, politics, and last-minute bursts of creativity, proving that poetry, much like her life, thrives on the periphery of intention.

'It was truly exciting to premiere my new album Música Aperta at the Mostra Festival, in such a carefully curated environment with an audience so devoted to the sound experience. The design of the space — in total darkness and surrounded by an exquisite sound system — created a collective sound meditation room for more than 10 hours each day, a unique experience that I had never seen at a festival before.

Música Aperta is an electroacoustic piece and immersive performance that explores the perception of time through sound. Using string textures, bowls, and organs, the music cultivates an atmosphere of active stillness and contemplation, inviting the exercise of deep listening. In this context, Mostra was the perfect place to express the concept of the album, which is essentially about creating a space of resistance to the fast pace of modern life. I'm super thankful to the festival team and the audience! "

𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘶𝘴 𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘵?
This set was recorded at Mostra Festival in April – a beautiful four-day experimental music festival in the heart of Barcelona, and my first Europe show of the year! I had the opportunity to bridge the gap between Ena’s incredible live ambient set and Timnah & Mario (Hybrid)’s deep techno set.

I themed my set around spiralling synths, beginning the journey with broken beats and moving through half-time into 170 BPM, while maintaining a sense of hypnotic groove throughout. 

The crowd and energy in the room were magnetic – they were with me every step of the way. It was such a beautiful experience and definitely a highlight of my year. Huge thanks to the amazing team at Mostra!! :)

Hello :) I’m Zara and I’m originally from so-called Australia, but I’ve been living in London since April.

I’m finishing up my last EU/UK gigs for the year this week, and then I’m sooo excited to head to Japan and Korea for a mini tour – still pinching myself that I get to play there!

𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨/𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨?
I’ve been DJing for about seven years and producing for around five.

XLB by Pearson Sound completely rewired my brain and pulled me into the subterranean world.

𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺?
They Feel, They Know by SHIVARASA.
I first heard it during a yoga class while I was recovering from a back injury that made daily life difficult and it really stayed with me. It reminded me of the value of stillness and the beauty of inner peace - especially as the weather turns colder and the state of the world feels increasingly bleak.

𝘋𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘣𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘣𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘵?
So many… but festivals like Waking Life, Monument, Parallel, and Organik really inspire me for their beautiful locations and community-focused approach. For clubs, I’ve always dreamed of playing at Bassiani, Club Raum, Ankali, and Oil.

𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘶𝘱?
Again, so many!! I have so many artists I admire, so let’s say the dream lineup would be a festival in nature taking place over a couple of days :D

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘋𝘑𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘴?
The dance floor is your greatest teacher, community your strongest ally, and fear of failure your greatest enemy.

If you’re able to, get out, dance, and soak in as much diverse music as you can. I’ve learned so much from watching how people respond to certain moments and from the energy of the room itself. I take inspiration from different elements within tracks and from how I feel and move when I hear certain sounds.

Being in clubs or music spaces also helps cultivate a sense of community. By genuinely supporting artists, collectives, and venues, we can help the underground not just survive but thrive. And most importantly, the dance floor is the best place to meet like-minded people – some of my closest friends are those I met through a shared love of music <3

Continuum: a coherent whole characterised as a collection, sequence, or progression of values or elements varying by minute degrees.

Some magical moments are impossible to capture. I am sure you have been there before: you try to explain, to put words on it, but the energy, the essence, just doesn't come through. Even the sharpest pens or the most eloquent talkers, are sometimes lost for words on those instants when everything clicks, when everything is in harmony. 

I've had the pleasure of meeting someone who has the power to convey those moments, distill their essence, and turn them into sound (and lately, also into images). Those who had the pleasure of meeting Ameeva, will know what I am talking about. He composes with emotion, shares sound that is full of passion and has a unique sense of feeling. Coming fresh from a performance at Casa Montjuic in partnership with Mostra, he is no stranger to those that love the most atmospheric ambient sounds. Head to his Bandcamp for a sample of how his music manages to touch the most feral and deep of emotions. 

The moment he captured for you, and all of us, happened some months ago on the outskirts of Madrid. And for me, it was an eye opener. A bunch of friends, many of us recently met, sharing food and drinks. Just a night of classic spanish "sobremesa", gone a bit out of hand. At that point, Alex and some others have a simple idea and ask if we can move the soundsystem to the garden, set up the hammocks outside, connect the Digitakt, and do a live set under the stars. Bear in mind, it is 2am. 

If you are with a group of people that asks these types of questions, and the answer is yes, you are in the right place, with the right ones.

The Continuum: Ameeva

Introducing a deeply soothing Unrush mix from DOC - a producer, live act, and founder of Selene Series, whose sound I've been exploring since a friend connected us at this year's Mostra Festival.

For this mix, he delivers something truly special: a warm, comforting sound blanket which spans over almost 3 hours. Moving away from the more experimental edges he often explores, DOC has crafted a mix that feels like a gentle, unhurried stroll.

In his own words:

"Not every mix needs to be ‘a journey’. This mix is a stroll.

A stroll around that feeling of warmth, of tranquility, of comfort. A walk in circles around different iterations of beautiful music to soothe your senses. Because sometimes, the act of walking is the destination in itself. And when we are not going anywhere, just being for the sake of being, there is no rush. We are unrushed."

So, find a moment, let it play in the background, and get lost in the stroll...
