En 2012 et dix ans après ses débuts, Stand High Patrol sortait son premier album. « Midnight Walkers » présentait un son dub contemporain aux multiples facettes, un son versatile, lourd de basses, baptisé dubadub. Forts du succès de ce premier LP et de celui de plusieurs maxis et singles sortis sur Stand High Records, Pupajim, Rootystep et Mac Gyver reviennent aujourd’hui avec un second album autoproduit, habillé d’une pochette réalisée par Kazy.

Enregistré en home studio entre juin 2013 et juillet 2014 « A matter of scale » fait apparaître de nouvelles influences. Les trois dubadub musketeerz intensifient la rencontre des styles et renforcent les bases de leur démarche créative. Une démarche d’ouverture, libérée des conventions.

Porté par la riche palette de flows exploitée par Pupajim, le son navigue sans cesse entre les époques. L’expérience dubadub prend une autre dimension. Les batteries et les mélodies Jazzy côtoient le reggae digital, les beats Hip-Hop flirtent avec les sonorités bass music et les dubs progressifs.

« A matter of scale » présente la manière de concevoir et de composer la musique propre à Stand High Patrol. L’album témoigne du penchant indéniable du crew pour l’expérimentation, et de sa volonté manifeste de faire voler les barrières en éclats !

n 2012, ten years after its inception, Stand High Patrol released their first album: Midnight Walkers, which featured a multifaceted take on contemporary dub – a versatile sound with heavy bass, named dubadub. Following the success of their first LP, plus several EPs and singles released on Stand High Records, Pupajim, Rootystep and Mac Gyver now return with their second self-produced album, with sleeve art by Kazy.

Recorded in a home studio between June 2013 and July 2014, A matter of scale has brought the emergence of new influences. The three dubadub musketeerz intensify the genre crossovers and strengthen the foundations of their creative process. Theirs is an open approach, free from conventions.

Supported by the rich range of Pupajim’s vocals, the sounds travel incessantly between eras. The dubadub experience takes on new dimensions; jazzy rhythms and melodies stand alongside digital reggae, hip-hop beats, bass music and progressive dubs.

A matter of scale shows how Stand High Patrol design and compose their own music. The album reflects the undeniable penchant of the crew for experimentation and their obvious desire to break down barriers.

Beat The Boss LP by Newcastle and Norway’s finest new trinity of crime fighting artists who between them are a serious blend of graffiti animators, MC’s, singers, producers, video editors and truth embellishing lyricists with some deep ideas to share about humanity who have created a mini masterpiece of sound in an 8 bit excursion which will blow you to bits as it did the Renegades when they sent it to us. Made up of Jody Bigfoot, Louie Zico and Helgeland 8 Bit Squad. Bigfoot and Zico came together having known each other as childhood friends and bonded following Bigfoot’s return from traveling Japan and Australia for the funeral of his best friend. A unique collective including various guests, a sound was created by combining the idiosyncratic voices of a disparate group with one mind. The track titles speak volumes, Beat the Boss - inspired by Jody’s decision to quit full time work under a dragon of a boss to complete the album, Eyes – Named after the third verse’s rhyme structure, the final verse close friend Lee Halpin recorded before his sudden death on the streets of Newcastle whilst trying to highlight the plight of the homeless, and Pierce – a dark and sublimely poetic piece observing the surface deep attitudes and endeavors of we humans, encouraging ourselves to pierce deeper. As fans of Helgeland 8 Bit Squad’s truly unique style, they decided to form the magic trinity to create this LP influenced by the late Space Ape and the Renegade Commander’s own immaturely baked efforts a few years ago. Firmly handing that baton to the the next generation we present to you a blend of 8 bit hip hop and laid back trip hop with a chill-out vibe, this is one for every Reggae Hop lover to kick back to and prepare for any event no matter how stressful, this LP will unwind you and get your head bobbing with the rhythm of sea waves on a calm night. You will love this, there is no doubt.

PlusStepper is the Ukrainian Dub, Stepper project by @c-j-plus, the sound producer and vinyl digger from Odessa, Ukraine. The resident of the French Dub Label @odgprod.

PlusStepper’s music constantly is in the rotation of radio stations in Europe, North & South America. It is also included to the reggae podcast by the legendary dj & selector David Rodigan on the BBC Radio 1Xtra. One of the tracks was released in 2016 in the Best Ukrainian Reggae music LP vinyl compilation "БЕREGGAEНЯ. Born In Ukraine" (Aby Sho Music). In 2017 the Single "Pull Up/Idicate" was released on vinyl records (7" 45rpm) by Dreadwise Music (The UK).

He collaborated with the legendary dub band "Caribace", share the stage together with Alpha & Omega (UK), Mahom Dub (France), the King of Dub & Reggae music Mad Professor (UK), MC Brother Culture and many others. C.J. Plus aka PlusStepper is also the founder of the Independent Net label ODBEATS and one of the first engines of rare grooves, funk and reggae music in Odessa (Ukraine). His music was in the TOP 1 of JunoDownload Recommends. His EPs are often included into musical discoveries and tops of the year by well-known Ukrainian magazines. He makes his music works using Soviet synthesizers, samples digitized from Soviet vinyl records of his collection, breathes new life into Ukrainian soviet grooves pumped with a funky beat. In 2018 his compilations of Soviet & Ukrainian rare grooves from vinyl records are released on cassettes too.
Now he collaborates together with the Ukrainian ethnic vocalist @MilaMazur and soul vocalist Alex Pervin aka Sahlim Quick.
