Sa danse laissait des séquelles
Quand son miroir aux allumettes
Faisait jaillir des étincelles
Chez ceux qui rêvaient de conquête

Avec un seul regard de braise
Elle enflammait toute la salle
Qui suffoquait dans la fournaise
Des pensées les moins virginales

Elle n’était pas une pyromane
Ni par désir, ni par démence,
C’est la danse qui par essence
L’allumait en pyrowoman

Tout flambant neuf, le sol de scène
Planchait sur la meilleure manière
De quoi garder un peu de veine
Sous l’incandescente incendiaire

Un jeune pompier, à l’évidence,
Déjà en burn-out pour elle
Dans le brasier, d’un coup, s’élance
Pour stopper sa danse antigel

A young fireman, obviously,
Already in burn-out for her
In the blaze, suddenly, rushes

The Andromeda galaxy and the Milky Way galaxy are two powerful and mighty gods locked in a cosmic battle. As they approach each other, their shapes become distorted and their orbits change as they feel the pull of each other's gravity. The stars and gas within each galaxy are pulled and stretched, and may even be sent hurtling towards the other. Finally, they collide head-on in a spectacular display of light and energy, creating new stars and celestial objects.

This is a piece from my set Dinner Chats, in which I envision my seven-year-old daughter playing Minecraft and diving into much fun.

It's performed live on two pianos by Amir Farid and Clare Longendyke at the Mostly Modern Festival in June 2022.
