The Gods Planet welcomes Pattrn for the 9th episode of the Radio Universe series. With 5 diverse and intense compositions, this EP unfolds solid grooves and roaring bass-lines, with both subtle and overt melodic hooks.

Beyond the years of technical know-how and self improvement in production, DJing, and live sets,  Brice Deloose aka Pattrn has been an active member of the Brussel's scene for quite some time. Cocreator of FTRSND, Brussels By Night Federation, Initiate, as well as having been the artistic director of Fuse club, Pattrn has spent much of his time promoting local artists and collectives to push forward Brussels' underground.

His track, “Stevia” is an ode to music producer Steevio and his signature style melodies. This track is all about the complex addition of hypnotic melodies, held together by a pulsating bass-line and a four to the floor kick drum.

Son of Chi returns to Astral Industries, alongside Spanish artist Clara Brea, for the collaborative release of AI-29. A product of fate, chance experiments, but most of all, sensitive artistry - ’The Wetland Remixes’ exists as a confluence of two kindred musical spirits, a wayfaring epic that draws together a rich archive of ecological field recordings, live instrumentation and higher inspirations. 

Ahead of Hanyo’s concert at ‘Avalovara listening club’ (Madrid) at the end of 2019, the curators (Diskoan & Josephine’ Soundscapes) organised a special dinner and arranged the meeting of Clara and Hanyo. As Hanyo recalls, “It was like stereochemistry. There was an instant match and understanding, and basically we decided in a split second to exchange recordings and to collaborate on future live and studio experiments.”  

The auspicious meeting of the two ignited a remote exchange of materials and ideas, as the world descended into a series of pandemic-related lockdowns. The first of said recordings included the stems of Clara’s ‘Wetland Project’ - a site-specific audiovisual project originally produced for Eufonic Festival (Spain), using field recordings from the Ebro Delta nature reserve (one of the most threatened regions of climate change on the Iberian peninsula). 

From this initial impetus, Hanyo began working on the first sketches of the album back in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Just like their meeting in Madrid, the project developed naturally and spontaneously with extraordinary ease. Later, Hanyo started adding field recordings from the Magic Cave and Wetlands of the ‘Kallikatsou’ (Patmos, Greece) as well as organic and acoustic overdubs, featuring bass, drums, percussion, guitars, oud, piano, hammond organ, wurlitzer, flutes, bells, and mouth harp. 

In the distance, the sound of birds peak through the effervescent wash of the wetland soundscapes. The pass of running water flows deeper into a land full of secrets never told. On the strike of dusk, the silhouettes of shapely trunks and foliage melt slowly into the impenetrable darkness. As darkness passes, light emerges, with exquisite moments of tranquility that seemingly emerge from nothingness.  

Beneath the shimmering veneer of textures, wildlife and melodies, one may hear the deeper references of ’The Wetland Remixes’. With credit to Clara’s input, for Hanyo the album process became a kind of refuge, and ultimately inspired the return to the core of Abstract Sound - what the Sufis call “Saut-i Sarmad.” Such references allude to the spiritual quality embedded in the music - the autonomous process of self-expression, the great mystery. Hanyo: “An ambience like this cannot be created by routine. There is no blueprint. The music has to find you. It’s like a blessing if it happens. You should not interfere, just observe and be impressed...” 

Deep, luscious mind trips as per the classic Chi sound, ‘The Wetland Remixes’ beautifully correlates the interconnecting dots of geography, ecology, and mythology’s forgotten lore.

Tripinzen is a DJ, producer and “soundsystem keeper” from St. Petersburg. A resident of the community CREWQ, a frequent guest in the lineups of the BLANK club, a participant in the Gamma festival and a producer who releases his music on Collective and Ugly.

The mix for PRGRPHS is a high-speed mixture of tribal near-hypno motifs, seasoned with a small amount of straight kicks.

Deep, dark, melancholic ambience infused with lush pads echoing throughout the rhythmic elements of dub." Sonitus Eco is the moniker and project of dub techno maltese producer Justin Meli. Having a vast discography throughout the years with releases on labels like Silent Season, ROHS!!, Subself Records, Evasion Room Records, Pinkpube and Deepindub - his unique sound knows no boundaries. 2012 saw his debut album "it is loneliness that makes the loudest noise” on Silent Season, and also remixes for several artists over the years.
In 2015 he joined forces with maltese dj and avid music collector Serial Depth to start a small independent label called Haar Records. Their aim for the project is to share their vision of fog filled, mist-oriented techno. The first release is set to be coming out on vinyl in early 2016.
Sonitus Eco also forms part of a live project with another local artist as ‘Haddiela’. Their sound can be described as floor techno, derived from modular systems and FM synthesis.

"From time to time I do a silent season mixes , especially when playing in outdoor venues , as i feel the music has a special connection with the outdoors . I recorded this podcast while playing live at statix festival 2015 , Malta . playing only tracks from the wandering 2 compilation , which has more than 3 hours of blissful music"..

INVEINS \ Podcast 005 \ Sonitus Eco

This week we are proud to feature the work of Forest on Stasys, an Argentinian artist influenced by tribal minimalist techno, as well as some of the more abstract strains of sound. The true distinguishability of his sound is characterized by a continual integration of sonorous and mesmerizing landscapes. As he himself describes it, this tendency has come naturally due to his admiration for drone and ambient tracks marked by strong melancholy.

In addition to leading Danza Nativa and releasing numerous intelligent EP's, it should be mentioned that earlier this year his work has become part of a compilation in support of the ongoing anti-government protestors in Chili. La Furia Del Pueblo ("the fury of the people") is a 54-track techno album featuring the likes of Voiski, Perc, Oscar Mulero, Anthony Linell, Acronym, Umwelt and more.

We have been eager to feature this unique recording that is supremely aligned to our initial vision and hope you enjoy.
