Kicking off the new year Steve Bug style – Poker Flat Recordings sets course for another year of quality house music. The label boss himself presents us with the first transmission of 2014 - and the title succinctly nails what to expect.

'Simple, Thick & Raw' contains three tracks that are simultaneously gritty, tough and highly effective. 

'The Arpeggio' contains Bug’s signature control of tension – an arpeggiated synth line bubbles along, hardly restrained, on top of a firing drum pattern, resulting in a groove wound tight and packed with suspense. 

'Thickest Bass' is also fairly self explanatory- a pitched down vocal introduces what might just be the filthiest bottom end Bug has ever produced. The track has a raw, off-kilter quality that will see it destroy many clubs when dropped at the optimum moment.

'Smoking Parrot' completes the trio, a tough yet spacey burner that builds into a indisputable floor-rocker, complete with punchy claps, descending bass-line and Bug’s well honed dynamics.

'Life in Circles'  completes the release - a tech house pearl with a touch of acid.

Born in 1984, Juan Jesús Maya aka Aktorse originally from Almería (Spain)
A dedicated, self motivated and young producer, Aktorse is an electronic music lover.

In an early beginning, Aktorse started to listen music from most popular clubs of the Spanish 90´s scene provoking curiosity in the electronic music world. While growing he was focused in other different styles and tendencies. 

In 2004-2005 he started to play in clubs and promoting events with Four Play Collective around Almería area.

When he moved to London in 2009, he got inspired by the underground night city scene of clubs and warehouse where he took some new influences moving forward to deep house styles with exciting variety of sophisticated rhythms and sounds.  There, he managed with his friend to create a record label called Nifu Nifa Records. He has played in one of the best clubs in Europe as Fabric London in room 1 and  also at Privilege Ibiza.

Aktorse has always shown passion for music, making brilliant House trips with his creative mind introducing some intelligent touch, which makes his dj sets an exceptional combination to enjoy on the dance floor.
