The above haiku by John Hinks - https://soundcloud.com/flownblue - sets the 517th Naviar Records challenge. The track was composed using a straightforward MakeNoise patch, incorporating 0-C0AST (through Mimeophon) and Morphagene (through Erbe-verb) starring as the two seagulls, controlled by the 0-CTRL. In the accompanying video you can see how the haiku-simple sequence is adjusted and tweaked for a real-time, in-the-moment performance.

Runway Crimes

I was experimenting with modal scales, in this case E phrygian. Finding it a little strange at the beginning I quickly got used to it and recognized that this is what often happens in our lives. We face situations that are unfamiliar and sometimes unwanted. But after some time we get used to them and consider them normal. It often helps to accept them and make the best of it.
