Musikken og ordene smelter sammen til en rejse ind i det ukendte… et sted, hvor sandheden gemmer sig bag lyset.

De siger, der findes et rum.
Et uendeligt mørke, hvor stjerner fødes og dør.
Men når jeg løfter blikket mod nattehimlen, ser jeg kun prikker af lys – men ingen beviser for det, de kalder stjerner.

Hvad er stjernerne egentlig?
Er de brændende sole langt væk…
eller blot lys, placeret i et himmeltæppe, vævet til os, for at vi skal tro?

De fortæller os, at planeter drejer lydløst i kredsløb,
at vi svæver på en kugle i et endeløst intet.

Marco Faraone is a prolific and versatile producer whose incendiary live sets have earned him the attention of all the right people. As his style developed, Marco became fascinated with the 90s house championed by Masters At Work and Todd Terry, whilst admiring Laurent Garnier for his ability to effortlessly play diverse sets.

Having earned his stripes as both trusted resident and a travelling headliner and with many high-profile dates behind him and the support of some of the most respected names in electronic music, Faraone has started running his own imprint. UNCAGE Music has already been creating plenty of noise and attracting attention from many of the most important artists in the scene continuously releasing HQ music since the day one with artists like Radio Slave, Skudge, Markus Suckut, Nick Hoppner, Marcel Fengler, Donato Dozzy, Eduardo de la Calle and of course Marco himself, giving also the opportunity to some new upcoming talents like Hertz Collision and Pablo Mateo to build up their own profile.

Ahead of his Australian return for Piknic Electronik, Marco has compiled a special Balance Selections mix which eschews his techno output of late in favour of a more groove-based house flavour. Essential listening...

Hailing from the Netherlands, Navar's teenage years were spent as a studio junky, building a relationship with music through an array of equipment where he developed the hallmark of his analogue/digital sound.

Never one to stick to a particular stylistic blueprint, Navar effortlessly melds elements of minimal, techno, progressive and electronica. He has continually impressed since a debut on Klopfgeist imprint in 2010, building a highly impressive discography of productions for Lost & Found, microCastle, Body Condition, Moral Fiber and Proton. His music routinely earns the praise of Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Sasha, Nick Warren, Laurent Garnier, Henry Saiz, Lee Van Dowski, Rodriguez Jr, Maceo Plex, Jeremy Olander, Sasse, Oliver Schories and a host of other respected industry figures.

Electronic music luminaries Hernan Cattaneo, Chaim, 16 Bit Lolitas and YokoO chose to remix the Dutch artist's creations, all of which received critical and commercial acclaim. Always looking to further his creative avenues, Navar collaborates with like minded musicians when the synergy is right, a three track EP (courtesy microCastle) with fellow Dutch artists Mononoid reached #1 in both Electronica and Progressive House on Beatport, while a much anticipated EP with Israeli artist Sahar Z is due for release on Guy J's Lost & Found Records this summer.

Being locked away in the studio in the early days, have led him to heights that he never could have imagined at the time. Navar set out to carve his own unique path in the world of electronic music.

Inspiration for the Dutch artist comes from many facets and moments in life, as he describes “The inspiration comes from the escape I create when I make music. Every project is a new journey and doors to different sonic avenues open with each one. I step away from reality and enter a world of imagination, surrealism and forgotten dreams". It's no accident that Navar's contemporaries remark on the soulful qualities in his music. His inner feelings have helped create a uniquely deep and recognizable sound, as he states “My music is a reflection of my feelings, it comes from a genuine place that I want people to connect with. I feel comfortable expressing myself through music and I hope people can relate to that”.

Navar's emotive creations have already cast lasting memories for electronic music fans across the globe. As he goes forward in his journey through sound his passion continues to grow and there's no telling how far his creative talents will reach.

These early days locked away in the studio have led him to heights that he never could have imagined at the time. Inspired by rock music from the 70s and 80s played by his father and later the compilations of Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buuren and Tiësto; Navar set out to carve his own unique path in the world of electronic music.
