Kinda proud of the groove I got, even if I didn't really know how to develop it.

Midnight Highway

Radio Juicy presents "Mars Blues", the first single from Northern California composer/pianist Telemakus incredible forthcoming LP “The New Heritage”. The track sees Telemakus taking a step into a new artistic beginning, representing a grand entrance to the lush world he's crafted. Featuring a strong 70s jazz funk incluence, the music is psychedelic and evocative, pulling the listener in with his striking sense of harmony and arrangement. Pentatonic clavinet riffs, intricate drum grooves, and transitions of dancing melodies from a tenor sax all combine with a funky bassline to propel the groove forward. 

‘The New Heritage’ , out October 13th, represents Telemakus’ lineage growing up in the jazz scene, gigging locally in the Bay Area. Being a self-taught pianist, the artist has a unique gift for harmony which evidently translates into the LP’s tracks as a continuous flow of inspiration. Having found his own sound listening to the likes of Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, DJ Harrison, and Robert Glasper, Telemakus’ has developed a deeply personal style, as he likes to define it, “off-kilter and unique”. Having written and arranged all the album’s instrumental parts, Telemakus joins forces with a host of incredible musicians to paint a series of stunning soundscapes. This is a truly special body of work and we can't wait to unveil it over the coming months.

A little Game tune I threw together, got the idea when I made a from scratch loop on the Roland JD-Xi, but it became too complex for the little Roland, so I had to throw the rest of the tracks into Audacity.

All done with Wavestate 2.0, live. Also live track recording with my new toy "Portastudio" Tascam DP-32sd, that had a learning curve I can tell you, but thanks to a few youtube videos I finally got the hang of how the recording and on-the-fly editing works on this thing, just as wonderful as they said it would be.

Studio isn't done yet, I sat in my sofa today with the entire Multitrack recorder AND the wavestate, quite a mess. But I need to make furniture for all the synths, oh boy....

Singularity

I went mad on the MPC one afternoon, experimented with new functions and stuff I don't really grasp so this is the result, wasn't sure if I should upload it but better than just leaving it in the mixer. Might improve this track in the future. Just here "not to be forgotten" sort of.

Madness is imminent

Made this in 30 minutes before I went to bed a boring sunday night, it was thundering outside and I could not sleep. Only Akai MPC key 61 was used to make this tune, rythms and music all from scratch, nothing pre-programmed or edited, played on the fly.
