DE: Das Ding sitzt wie ein kaltes Bier zum Frühstück: Es geht direkt ins Blut, hebt die Laune, es ist gehaltvoll für Kopf und Körper gleichermaßen – und es macht Lust auf mehr. Deshalb funktioniert die erste PopHop EP auf der Heimanlage genauso gut wie da, wo der sympathisch durchgeknallte Mecklenburger seinen Heimathafen hat: Auf einer gut gefüllten Tanzfläche. Mit bemerkenswertem Feingefühl für seine erdigen Instrumentierungen und wunderbar draufgängerischer Attitüde im Bass- und Rhythmusbereich schickt er uns hier dreimal auf die Reise. Dabei sind die Trompete von jPattersson und die Gitarrenakkorde von Aeksel quasi das melodische i-Tüpfelchen auf dem Wort Reise, und sogar im zweistelligen BPM Bereich geht es mit PopHop ordentlich nach vorne.

EN: This one works like a cold beer for breakfast: It gets you going immediately, elevates your mood, it nurtures body and soul – and it makes you want more. That's why the first PopHop EP works just as good on a home sound system as it does where this charmingly eccentric character from the North East of Germany is at home: On the dancefloor. Showing a remarkably sensitive side in his earthy instrumentations and a wonderfully bold side in his rhythms and basslines, he sends us on three different trips. The trumpet of jPattersson and the guitar chords of Aeksel are like the cherry on the cake, and PopHop provides a serious amount of catchiness even in the realm of double-digit BPM.

His treasure chests filled with black gold and glistening silver, capturing a vast collection of acoustic tales… Being a buccaneer, Pophop is right in his element when cruising through the sound waves of that endless ocean named music, always in search of new melodies. The haul he brings to his home port -the artist collective 3000Grad from Germany- afterwards, is an eclectic mixture of East European folklore, dubby grooves, tropical happiness, and multicoloured electronic sound pearls. Using these precious treasures, the bearded vagabond lures the dance floor out of the grey mist of everyday life, takes his listeners on an exciting adventure trip full of daring love for life.

Als gebürtiges Ostseekind hat Stephan jederzeit den Strandsand zwischen den Zehen und fühlt sich in der Nähe des Wassers einfach am wohlsten. Lockig wie einst seine Haare versprüht er seit seinem 18. Lebensjahr den Discovibe. Gestartet als Trashmaster 3000 in früheren Zeiten, machte er sich auf so mancher 80er und 90er Party in seiner Heimatregion beliebt. Nach vielen Experimenten hat er 2015 seine liebe zur langsamen, elektronischen Musik entdeckt. Der von ihm liebevoll genannte "Trash" spiegelt sich aber immernoch wieder und so findet man in nahezu all seinen Mixen etwas aus den vergangenen Jahrzehnten. Gepaart mit einem schwungvollen Elektrobeat, zieht er mittlerweile viele Zuhörer:innen in seinen Bann und ist nicht mehr nur an der Ostsee zu hören. 2018 gründete er mit seinem Faultierbuddy @Stelzenlaeufermusic die @Faultierdisko in Rostock und wurde so auch über die Grenzen Mecklenburgs hinaus bekannt.
