L.A. native Kevin Litrow's LITRONIX is a music machine inventing irresistible futuristic pop songs. He infuses warm analog electronic synthesizers, organic guitars, multi-layered loops, and boxed beats.

For the forthcoming debut album, critically acclaimed Sub Pop artist Avi Buffalo stepped in as producer, and is backing LITRONIX on guitar at shows. Franco Falsini of Sensations’ Fix brought his vision for a remix of the first single, and also plays on the full-length with a long list of talented musicians. Litrow is no rookie. In his past projects he has toured and shared the stage with the stellar talents of Peaches, The Gossip, The Kills, Ariel Pink, Future Islands, Blood Brothers, Broadcast, Múm, and Ian Mackaye. Now is the time for LITRONIX.

After his band 60 Watt Kid ended, Litrow had new aspirations. He wanted to continue creating and performing- but, without additional members. For years, Litrow submerged his sounds in a sea of loop pedal experimentation. He crafted beats using drum machines and beat-boxing vocals. He layered synths, bass synths, and abnormally tuned guitars. While swimming in his new world of sonic textures, Litrow moved to an apartment directly above a gas station. The infinitely rotating cast of characters that rolled in and out became the daily entertainment and inspiration to the songs on the upcoming debut album Pump the Gas.

Since a young musician, Avi Buffalo has been a fan of Kevin Litrow's music. He discovered the pleasantly strange sounds of 60 Watt Kid and frequented Kevin’s shows. Towards the end of 2013, Avi offered Kevin to record a song at a home studio in West Adams, Los Angeles. Though there was no album in site, the pair recorded one song, and then contacted Dylan Wood of 60 Watt Kid to record a second song.

Another admirer of Litrow is Long Beach label Porch Party Records, who have hosted Kevin Litrow’s projects at numerous house shows and venues since 2010. After an electrifying performance of brand new songs in the LBC in 2014, label owner Casey Terrazas immediately approached Kevin and wanted to put these sounds on vinyl. They headed into local Long Beach studio Jazzcats with engineer J.P. Bendzinski. Excited about the quickly blossoming creative collaboration, Avi offered to produce and record the album with Kevin and JP. Now, the team was complete. To bring these new sounds to the stage, Avi began playing live shows as the 2nd member of LITRONIX, captivating audiences with their vibrant, progressive sound. Back in the studio, numerous musicians from Los Angeles, Long Beach, and beyond overdubbed countless parts. Lastly, the songs were taken to Brian Frederick at 3 Pt Studios for the final mix.

LITRONIX will be releasing the lead single Are You New Age? on a 7” late summer of 2016 with a remix by Franco Falsini of Sensations’ Fix, then followed up with the full-length 12” LP Pump The Gas this fall- both available on Porch Party Records.

Religious Girls is an experimental pop band from Oakland, California that originated in 2008. They’ve released several praised EPs and gained a dedicated following with their dynamic live sets (often performing off the stage in the middle of the pit). They haven’t released any music since 2012, and their fans are highly anticipating hearing new music.  The Stranger poetically explain Religious Girls unique sound and its powerful effect on the listener: 

“combining frantic live drums with layered synth textures and expressive howls, the band creates a magical space for my thoughts to wander in public, directed by otherworldly sounds.”

Religious Girls has become a diverse trio of multi-instrumentalists, with each member hailing from separate musical backgrounds that range from metal to noise to math rock and pop. The band's current line-up consists of keyboardist / lead vocalist Christopher Danko, keyboardist / drummer / vocalist Luis Gutierrez and lead drummer / vocalist Nicholas Cowman. Using their influences and talents, Religious Girls focus their energy into creating powerful harmonies and layering them over intricate percussive rhythms. Bay area indie music site The Bay Bridged concisely explains the spectrum of Religious Girls songwriting:

“bursting-at-the-seams compositions to soaring, noisy, melodic, and mathy extremes.”

Collectively, the band has tried to push aside the standards of popular song writing with non-repeating structures, an intricate meth-matical style, and a carefully laid out set in which all songs are interweaved into one. Religious Girls focus on creating intimacy with the crowd, and are known to offer an intense and dramatic set. They feel that no matter how high of quality a recording may be, the live set is what moves people, and viewers leave in awe by the end of their live performances.
