Interview of Judy Bluehorse-Skelton by Christopher Milton on August 10th, 2011.

Educator and herbalist, Judy Bluehorse Skelton has worked with Multnomah and Washington County Indian Education programs, the Confederated Tribes of Siletz, OMSI, and shares her knowledge of medicinal plants. She is of Nez Perce, Cherokee, and Chickasaw descent, and a member of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society. She is the author of six collections of essays for teachers including Native America: A Sustainable Culture (1999), and Lewis & Clark Through Native American Eyes (2003). She is on the Portland State University faculty. In 2006 she was honored with the Oregon Indian Education Association's award for Outstanding Indian Educator. She has served on the boards of the Urban Greenspaces Institute, The Intertwine Alliance, and the Native Advisory Committees to Portland Parks and Recreation and Portland Metro Land Use.
