This is the music recorded for my Music Practice Capstone Project at NYU Abu Dhabi. The project is a five piece concept album titled Memorias Marinas. The fragments of the poetry come from my grandfather—José María Obando Garrido—who recited the poems that I made the music for.

Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs: Wisdom and Love

This Audio Feature provides a glimpse into the caregiving journey of Siddika Omar, the wife and primary caregiver of an Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) patient, the late Tamer ElGindy.

This song follows the story of the narrator's friend's passing. With strong themes of religion, Ally (Draft) emulates bargaining on the album.

Ghost of my Life is about the depression experience after the loss of a relationship. Using the idea of feeling like a ghost to portray a deep melancholy.

Little Best Friend follows the story of a man in denial of the loss of someone close to him. The idea formed from when I saw a man sitting alone in a plastic, pink play crib outside.

Wasting Time explores the anger and hurt of realizing the one you love might not be all yours. There is a big highlight on feeling like time is wasted on a person in light of new information.
